That''s not gone down well on twtd, mind you all their efforts are on Mick leaving in May or how they can get rid of him before then

All part of Webber''s world domination plan, today East Anglia tomorrow the world !Seriously, this will wind them up down the road, TWTD will probably go into meltdown. Guessing no smoke without fire.

Source seems to be Nick Mashiter on Twitter again - Webber''s unofficial mouthpiece during the summer.

In fairness, for their level, they recruit pretty well. With not a lot of funding, they stay mediocre, which is more than you can say for most. We''ve twice in recent years had an administration that has reached miles too far and floundered, and now we''re running on a very effective vastly-reduced budget. It doesn''t come more grounded than Ipswich.

McGavin only deals with recruitment into the Ipswich academy - so has nothing to do with players signed for the first team.

Despite not being a Cat 1, Ipswich have done fairly well out of their youth teams - Teddy Bishop, Andre Dozzell, Tristan Nydam etc.

Think those guys were picked up before McGavin was appointed there, but at least he will have a good knowledge of local players (and will also know which of the Ipswich youth players are worth nicking).

Seems a good steal! Every time I see Ipswich on TV they seem to have some new 17 year old kid they''ve just lobbed in at the deep end and usually they do pretty well. Even the derby last week they had a couple who were among the better performers for them.

I mean needs must and that as they are living off scraps for a transfer budget but having those good youngsters get into the first team has probably saved them from going down to league 1 in the long run.

We have not won any Youth cup or something recently, or sold a youth product for £12m or so. Unlike our dent happy ponces down the road who have manged to rack up nearly £100m debt for what. The ground is falling apart through neglect, as is their pitch, They no longer own their own training ground. The gates have plummeted as have their ST sales. As to their youth set up they have produced diddley squat that hasn''t eventually dropped down to non league football. They are ''grounded'' in the same way a corpse is grounded.
