Carlton Morris out on season long loan

Recommended Posts

Carlton Morris has joined Ebou Adams (until Jan 1st)on a season long loan at ShrewsburyThis suggests a few things -He certainly is not up to the standard required in the Championship, however it is only a division below so that suggests he''s not too far offHis moving on also suggests that we will be looking to bring in at least one more striker, more if either Oliveira or Jerome move onIt further suggests that the club is far more determined than some on here would admit. It would have been all too easy for the club ''to go with what we have got'' rather than sending out Morris to get experience elsewhere.I should imagine that the squad will have a few more changes before Aujust 31

To be fair he didn''t really light up his loan spell last season, so have to agree not good enough at this level.

But isn''t Watkins a forward / winger? So even if we go with what we have we''ll have three decent options with Naismith & Murphy who can at a push join the front man for a change in formation when required.

But have to agree there will probably be more ins and outs before August ends. Just hope to God it''s not Daryl Murphy.

It depends on how Farke sees playing Watkins. We have enough who can play freer than the ''target man''.... Hoolahan, Pritchard, Maddison, even NaismithHowever Farke did say that he wanted someone who offered something different .. a sort of Ted MacDougall perhaps, who just finishes not much elseback to Morris it is heartening to see players being developed rather than simply thrown in, remember both Murphys being away for a season, as with MathewsLewis now looks to have stepped up, as might Toffolo

I''m still expecting more players from outside the UK, I wouldn''t be surprised to see a decent loan from Germany up top. Rather hoping we see a decent loan from Germany.

up top of what ?Otherwise we will have to bring in players that we can afford if we are still here next season. Which suggests more loans then see where we are next June.Much will depend on how Farke will be getting the players to play. Those coming so far do not look the sort of Hoolahan built, nor slinky skills. It would expect a faster attacking side, with a good deal more closer marking (ironing).it could be that he will find players who fit in with that style more readily (and cheaper ?) in Germany.Odd that Jarvis is still around. Perhaps he is still lying on the treatment bed and has been forgotten about.I would think that farke is still sorting out who the three keepers are, though Im not too sure why we need three possible first teamers. Two on match days with the other on 24 hour recall would be better

Morris was injured most of his rotherham loan, but we do need to see hims score a little more often at shrewsbury if he is to become a viable first team option here - his record of 8 goals in 55 loan appearances so far needs a little boost.

Watkins is a striking option - but if the persisting rumours that Jerome (received but unsubstantiated gossip) will move / be moved on more upheaval could yet be on the cards.

Strange, isn''t it, how if you look at Hughton''s managerial record, you could say, what happened between 13 and 16.........Newcastle 55.71 % Spurs 50%Brighton. 48.74 %Birmingham 41.9 %Norwich 29.27 %
