Tommo 51 Posted July 16, 2017 Not a surprise that he isn''t involved in the senior team but given Tony Andreu is with under 23s why isn''t he training with them - is he still injured or does he have another club in for him? Not seen many rumours so far regarding him.He will be on decent salary so need to move on as quickly as possible
Bill 1,788 Posted July 16, 2017 I didn''t notice that. Strange as he could have had either Pritchard or Klose''s bed in Germany, two spare nowHis needing to move does not necessarily mean we can ''move him on''.
Feedthewolf 4,844 Posted July 16, 2017 I''m sure I read or heard somewhere that he had picked up another knock? He injured his hip in April, so I''d imagine that either he hasn''t recovered from that, or he''s picked up another knock, or he''s just so hopelessly out of shape that he''s just doing fitness training. There was a comment at the NCSFC thing last week about players on high wages who weren''t motivated to play, and Stone said "some of them are still here". Jarvis is the only current squad member who could possibly fit into that category - Naismith clearly tries hard when he does play, Tettey has been playing regularly too, Andreu''s wages aren''t that high I wouldn''t imagine... can''t think who else Stone could have been referring to, to be honest. Move Klose 303 Posted July 16, 2017 Which nob signs a player with his injury record:a) On a permanent dealb) On a contract that runs until 2019

Move Klose 303 Posted July 17, 2017 If you think he''s on a different wage because he''s injured then I''m afraid your deluded.Yer he left West Ham in the prem on a very good wage to join another club that was gonna cut his wages whilst injured 😂.
Jim Smith 2,314 Posted July 17, 2017 We basically signed him to pacify the fans at the end of the transfer window after we flogged Johnson. He was even injured when we signed him permanently. That deal one of the very worst out of a number of very poor decisions in recent times. Don''t need the benefit of hindsight to see it was stupid.
KiwiScot 1,436 Posted July 17, 2017 I seem to remember lots of people seemed happy enough with Jarvis when he first came to the club and a bit after. Only after he got injured long term did we start moaning the fact he wasn''t around. Its not his fault and I''d imagine he just wants to play.
Move Klose 303 Posted July 17, 2017 Your right it''s not his fault. That''s why we are moaning about the people signed him and not him.He had a decent game on his debut vs Bournemouth I think, but didn''t do a lot after that.Probably do well at this level if he''s fit, but when would that be. Coq au vin 0 Posted July 17, 2017 Saw him play his debut at that 3-1 win over B''Mouth. He looked like a class act and worked really well with Brady. Such good link up play. But then that was it. No more. A real shame, I don''t think he''ll ever be back to fitness. And we''re stuck with him until 2019 doing sweet f''all. Wish I had his salary to sit around on my ass trying to kick a football about.
king canary 7,580 Posted July 17, 2017 @move kloseYeah it was a ludicrous move to make it permanent. Terrible injury record and already injured at the time. Made even worse by the length of contract he got.
Stone 0 Posted July 17, 2017 Jarvis isn''t involved... because he''s out injured until 2019.
Nuff Said 5,089 Posted July 17, 2017 OP, do you have a cunning plan how we can "move him on as quickly as possible"? Because as others have said on here he will be (and I paraphrase) about as attractive as a fart in a diving suit to any other club. I can''t see any option other than to pay his contract up. In which case we might as well hang on to him for the increasingly unlikely possibility that he regains fitness.

TIL 1010 4,722 Posted July 17, 2017
He did ok on loan.
Correct me if i am wrong Winky but didn''t we sign him on this permanent deal whilst he was out injured during his loan spell ?
Move Klose 303 Posted July 17, 2017 This is what he said upon sigoing his permanent deal"Unfortunately I then picked up an injury but I''m desperate to get back fully-fit, and back playing. To get the deal sorted is really nice and I''m looking forward to helping the team as soon as I can." So yes I would say he was injured when signed.3 and a half year deal. That''s crazy. Feedthewolf 4,844 Posted July 17, 2017 I guess our best chance of moving him on is offering him for loan once he''s back in training. We''re not going to get anything out of him, so we might as well just give him away on loan (no loan fee, we''ll pay his wages or the vast majority of them) and hope that he can pick up some kind of form. Minimal chance that that would lead to a permanent move on his wages, but the chances of it happening if he stays at CR are zero.

Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted July 17, 2017 He may have been signed injured but so was Howson (under Lambert) and I''m sure there have been others. IMO he had a decent loan spell, and I don''t recall too many whinging about the signing when it happened.

Mr Angry 1,545 Posted July 17, 2017 Since we are all just speculating about the amount of his wages, how about we also speculate that perhaps the shrewd Chief Executive who was here at the time that Jarvis was signed on a permanent basis may have taken Jarvis'' history of injuries and medical problems into account when finalising the terms of the contract? nutty nigel 7,509 Posted July 17, 2017 Are people saying he was signed without passing a medical?I agree with YOTT that he will be frustrated by these injuries. Of course he''s still being paid. If I was injured at work I wouldn''t refuse to be paid either.Frustrating all round.

The classic example was James Vaughan, but others (off the top of my head), included Pilkington, Whitbread and Surman, all of whose careers had stuttered due to injuries of one sort or another. It was a gamble which spectacularly failed in Vaughan''s case but worked out in the case of the others, presumably thanks largely to the good judgement and expertise of our medical department. Indy_Bones 441 Posted July 17, 2017 I personally thought we got rid of Vaughan too easily. His knee injury ruined that first season fair enough, but when it came to the season after he looked pretty damn good in pre-season and as though he''d give us a genuine different option upfront to Holt and Morison where needed, but he was then promptly sold to Huddersfield where he managed 14 in 33 (no injuries there), and was similarly good the year after with 10 in 23.Would have been a better option than either Kamara or Becchio for that 12/13 season IMHO, and could hardly have been worse than Jackson either for that matter! norfolkngood 1,086 Posted July 17, 2017 the problem with injury with muscles or joints is a specialist can say i EXPECT it to to heal 100% but reality is until it is tested again and again it is impossible to say if it will happen again or it may course other muscles to strain / pull as they compensate for the injured areawith his injury record and as he was injured at the time it was reckless to offer him a deal until 2019
Coq au vin 0 Posted July 17, 2017 I''d forgotten all about Kai Kamara! Becchio was never injured was he? He just never played. Kinda ruined that guy''s career.
norfolkngood 1,086 Posted July 17, 2017 the thing with Jarvis is when he is injured he then gets injured when he is coming back from being injured ! it really is that bad
