mr footy 36 Posted August 13, 2017 It will take time for the squad to get used to this kind of football. The team played well in periods, just a few errors here and there.these things happen, so am looking forward to 3 points midweek.if it takes 2 or 3 seasons to gel so be it,at least we are going in the right direction. Rogue Baboon 0 Posted August 13, 2017 2 or 3 seasons? You are just trolling here. 2 or 3 seasons is a lifetime in football. If it takes 2 or 3 seasons we are certainly not heading in the right direction...
Time to go Delia 0 Posted August 13, 2017 If the players just are not good enough no amount of time will help , we won''t finish above Ipswich this season and it will be a struggle to stay up . Unfortunately it was all to easy to see this happening all summer after unknown after unknown was signed and most of the deadwood already here were kept on . Gordon Bennett 783 Posted August 13, 2017 Webber said three or four transfer windows and its hard to disagree.
Horse Renoir 1 Posted August 13, 2017 Ridiculous that some are expecting a completely new system and so many new signings and young/unproven players to be playing perfectly straight away. Look at what it''s taken for other teams. It took Reading a quarter of a season last year to get going playing this style but they did really well once up to full speed. I also remember reading a lot of similar complaints from Swansea fans early in Rodgers reign after they lost here in 2010, moaning that they had loads of possession but didn''t create any chances and had mistakes in them at the back, they came good though, finished the season strongly and got promoted. Leeds under Monk had a poor start to last season, Wagner did nothing in his first half season etc. I''m sure there are other examples of philosophies needing time to bed in. We kept the ball well, looked dangerous going forwards for 25 minutes, we moved the ball quicker than I''ve seen us for a long time, even if we sometimes dithered. Our young and inexperienced defence got caught out with a clever long ball, then Sunderland defended deep and frustrated us. This was far from a disaster, the crowd was vocal for most of the game and we played really well in spells. Don''t understand why people are panicking already, they were a tough opening 2 games and we''re not going to be perfect yet, that Farke has got us to this point so quickly with so much turnaround in players (Spending significantly less than we received in fee''s and wages) and injuries these past 6 weeks is promising, at times we played the system really well, none of them apart from Zimmermann had played in a possession based 3-4-1-1 in a competitive fixture before last week. I really liked what I saw at times and think we''re in good hands with Farke, I hope people are patient, if this one doesn''t work out we''re in trouble. Indy 3,298 Posted August 13, 2017 Sorry Horse but it was against In The Words of those on here, Sunderland in deep hits and probably bottom six side, who have sold or lost their best players in disarray........they beat us and scored four goals today on our home turf! Surely expecting a new system with new players was the same for both teams today?
djc 0 Posted August 13, 2017 We don''t have time, as this is our final year of parachute payments. We will need to become self sufficient if we don''t achieve promotion come May 2018.
Mello Yello 2,289 Posted August 13, 2017 Become self sufficient........There''s a future challenge.......Neppers Tom must be really looking forward to taking over the helm and the reins of the club if and when the ''self sufficiency'' period comes into effect......Should be very, very interesting...... Dean Coneys boots 1,400 Posted August 13, 2017 This board have had time. FIVE seasons and counting to sign a defence worthy of a team of our stature. And STILL we wait and STILL we see the same annoying issues sinking us. And still Russell Martin gets new contracts and we sign players not up to the required standard. How long is too long? Guest Posted August 13, 2017
Our young and inexperienced defence got caught out with a clever long ball
The Sunderland goalkeeper punting a routine long ball up to the strikers is ''clever''? Hardly. It was a shambolic moment between our centre backs. Losing the first header, then failing to cover the space in behind. Completely amateurish.
