Wake up call? That would of woke the dead.

Recommended Posts

Didn''t go to the game or watch it on the wireless but today was an absolute shambles.

Sunderland were terrible last season and were hardly catching pigeons last week. They had two whole days less than us to prepare for the game too but you wouldn''t know it looking at the score would you?

Embarrassing. If we thought we were poor defensively last season then today was a wake up call as we''ve somehow got worse. Martin still at the heart of everything bad except rather than having a ball playing centre half like Ryan Bennett to bail him out we seem to have signed an arthritic German in Zimmerframe and a donkey, well, horse in Frankel. The Rock of Gibraltar (the actual one, not the horse this time) is more mobile. We''ve got a kid in goal cos his dad is friends with the tea lady and a coach who''s never coached anyone ever by all accounts. So there we are conceding goal after goal after goal while Alec Neil has got Preston off to a flier and Ruddy and Bennett have turned Wolves into the Arsenal of the Adams and Winterburn era.

We''re a joke.

All this talk about a new philosophy is a smoke screen. There is no philosophy, just philanthropy as we give away goals and lose our top assets for a pittance that disappears into the abyss that is Delia''s purse.

So far as I can see all this webberlution has produced is a downgraded team who''d all need a compass to work out which way is forward. We should have gone down the tried and tested route and got in some young, hungry and English players. These foreigners don''t get the Championship. They don''t understand what is required. Get the ball from back to front, get it in the mixer, get it in the net. Simple. Instead we''re making more passes than a randy uncle at a wedding. That''s great but just like that uncle would tell you, it don''t guarantee you''ll score.

What might is if we played our best striker. But oh no, he got a goal the other week so we''ll leave him on the bench. No doubt he''ll get frozen out and alienated like Lafferty and Becchio or have his confidence chipped away like Van Wolfswinkel or Strihavka or Lupoli. And any of them would be better than Jerome. The last time he looked like scoring Rolf Harris was still a national treasure.

And talking of national treasures when is everyone going to wake up and realise that Delia has manipulated this situation exactly to her liking. Rousing speeches and long named Jonny foreigners have blinkered everyone to her asset stripping us bare. Fire sale of players, cheap option manager, never-heard-of signings and loan players. Last time we did this we ended up in division three (old money) as she drove us to our lowest ever ebb as a club. Apart from them times when we had to be re-elected or whatever.

So, already it''s apparent. There has been change; great. However the underlying and fundamental deficiencies remain. Martin, Jerome and Balls. That MJB hotels that they own tells you all you need to know about these three.

To summarise: Dreadful. Worse signings. She''ve got to go. Where''s all the money?
Overlong drawn out build up with a poor finish.

The wake up call is a signal for bed.
Excellent summary of us today. Concise, succinct but perhaps not as impassioned as mine.

I can''t see Private Eye signing you up anytime soon.

Perhaps the Sycophant General, dear old Dick ''Goebbels'' Menace can give you some tips. 😊😊

Some patience shown, but completely failed to suck the opposition out. Despite a tragic performance there is still some self praise for an ineffective performance.

Too many beers past bedtime for one little duck

Nice parody. Even your choice of wording in the title, "would of woke" instead of "would have woken", is spot on. Saved me having to open any of the negative threads. It''s all here.

Judging the amount of zombies that turned up yesterday, something bad was awoken.
