Herman 9,749 Posted May 1, 2017 A re-structuring of the whole club is not knee-jerk reaction. It was planned, and shelved, during McNally''s reign and the only reason it was shelved was because of the Premiership at all costs mantra. The club is being bold and trying something new to us, but something that has worked at other clubs, Tottenham,Soton,Swansea, and will hopefully bring this club into the 21st century. The old school hiring and firing of ''traditional'' managers and staff has failed us far too many times now and to stick to rigidly will just fail again, and cost a lot of money, again and again. FCC 76 Posted May 1, 2017 Fair comments Herman. I suppose the new structure is dependent on Weber being the right choice as the man at the top.
Highland Canary 76 Posted May 1, 2017 Michael O''Neill now linked - just the sort of appointment to stabilise the club in league one - you couldn''t make it up.
First Wazzock 902 Posted May 1, 2017 Having previously managed Brechin City and Shamrock Rovers, Michael O''Neill could be just the man for the job...
SwindonCanary 455 Posted May 1, 2017 I''d still prefer the high closing down and quick passing game of David Wagner
lappinitup 629 Posted May 1, 2017
Michael O''Neill now linked - just the sort of appointment to stabilise the club in league one - you couldn''t make it up.
Reported by the Sunday Sun - so it''s likely somebody has.But of course, Highland believes anything he thinks will show our club in a poor light. Highland along with Keith Scott and Big Vince are pure comedy and I love them all. [:D] [<:o)]
Old Shuck 183 Posted May 1, 2017 Michael O''Neill''s name has been pulled out of a hat by a media organisation desperate to fill space or a bored hack thinking he or she can fill some quickly.Of all the names that have been linked with the job, his is up there as one of the more unrealistic-yet people are still seeing the speculation as gospel and hammering the club for considering him.It was definitely going to be Alan Pardew not so long ago. Then Rowett. Then Warburton. Then Rosler, a more realistic opportunity or Garry Monk. Nothing has happened and the press know they can''t keep on recycling the same old names so along comes O''Neill.No-one has cited anything like evidence to suggest our interest-no quotes from him or the club, not even the tried and tested "insiders at" or "friends of".If he doesn''t come to pass by this time next week it''ll be someone else. Wonder who?All that matters and is worth praise or condemnation is what follows confirmation by the club of who it is.
