lake district canary 4,520 Posted April 30, 2017 Irvine was fuming at half time according to his post match interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT0EiiCCj4cNot setting up right at the kick off after the thrird goal was, he said, "unprofessional". And that is after the same kind of things that have been happening for the whole season - and last. So what will it take for these players to sort themselves out? When is the penny going to drop that they have to concentrate for 90 minutes?
Morisons Prozac 0 Posted April 30, 2017 Perhaps when they''re playing for the likes of Wigan next season
Van wink 2,994 Posted April 30, 2017 To some extent I think this is a cultural thing. When you play in a winning team with a good work ethic it''s almost unwritten that you do your job and don''t let the rest of the lads down. If you do you will hang your head in shame and certainly won''t do it again. We seem to lack that ethic and commitment not just to the team as a whole but to the fellow pros in the side. If players can''t buy into that mentality then they need to go and seriously examin their attitude. Our away form is a symptom of the lack of real respect for fellow pros and of course also the travelling fans. Badger 2,389 Posted April 30, 2017 How did we set up after the third - anybody know who was out-of-position?
Rogue Baboon 0 Posted May 1, 2017 We have struggled with kick offs for 18months now. I can''t ever recall seeing a team concede so many so quickly after restarts The most unforgivable was Newcastle as that was OUR kick off - we simply gave the ball straight back to Newcastle, retreated and waited for them to score
Block Y Seat 176 79 Posted May 1, 2017 Top coaches would simply drop the players that do not follow instructions. The problem for Norwich is that the replacements we have may " on paper" weaken the side. 11 players playing as a unit to prevent the opposition scoring is surely better than 11 individuals trying to score goals? Not conceding is habit forming and is the basis for any future success.
Guest Posted May 1, 2017 I think so much of this must stem from the attitude of the players. No matter how bad the set up or tactics have been for the last two seasons, it is up to the players to respond to what happens on the pitch. And each and every one of our defenders has come in for severe criticism this season in particular that you would imagine they would have addressed what they were doing wrong. simmo_2 6 Posted May 1, 2017 The penny is finally dropping with some fans. When NCFC don''t have a proper captain on the pitch this is the sort of thing that happens. It is the captains responsibility to make sure the managers orders are carried out while the match is in progress.
