Tweeting again . Almost appears like he is being briefed, broke the story on Webber and now carrying the "previous mistakes" theme that the Club are keen to portray.

Not sure I follow his line that players like Bassong should have been "paid up" - as contractually I cant see any financial benefit? Since Webbers arrival M''shitter does seem much more interested in NCFC.

Anyone know what the connection is?

he has become our no.1 source of breaking news and clearly has a close working relationship with SW.

Am enjoying it while I can!

Obviously Webber''s trusted friend in the media.

It seems not only is the new Sporting Director a specialist in recruitment he also knows how to media manage as well. Another thing the club lost after McNally left.

One of the key messages that stood out for me in his excellent interview was that Norwich City had lots of decent infrastructure but also parts which were very undeveloped and lacking. The standout point was that we had not been good at simple communication with the fans, explaining what our strategy was with the LB situation for example. He stated he wanted to improve how NCFC managed its communication and also hinted that it wasn''t hard to do. He explained that then the fans could at least understand positions the club were taking, even if they disagreed with the approaches. So Webber is taking a far more communicative role and has many channels for this.

Do others agree that the last month has been excellent in terms of the club''s communication? I do. The low point was after THAT Times Delia interview, where I felt anyone''s view was unimportant. Far play to Webber. Time will tell. But if using other trusted journalists to get across views and explanations then I am all for it. It shows a connection with fans too.

I don''t think it would have been for financial reasons, more like Bassong being a ''disruptive force'' at the club. Perhaps that was the reason he went out on loan to Watford.

Bassong was mates with Hughton.

Managing expectations by using the media is clearly important, this Mashiter guy seems to be the guy SW will use. So far, SW booting some guys to bring in his own apart (which tends to happen) , I''m not sure we''ve done too much more than AN was proposing at his ill fated final press conference.

It is interesting about the ''old player'' thing as well, as that goes back to something AN said last close-season that he wanted to address - the problem was that clearly he couldn''t get shot of some players until they were out of contract. That we have been able to do now does help the feeling that we are moving on even if it is what would''ve happened anyway - where we now go is perhaps where it will differ.

The Pinkun is talking of ''shock exits'', but were they? Ruddy and Bennett perhaps but even then without any news of new contracts it should have been obvious that they were not staying on. I''m sure the board have been made aware of who were not ''toeing the line'' and if AN could not bring them into line then another chap would have to. with the benefit of contracts ending. Hopefully this is a new start in the way of the McNally era in the summer of 2009 when it was more a case of getting off field sorted as well as on the pitch. We shall see.

I agree. Nothing that has been announced this week has been a shock to me nor indeed is any of it "revolutionary" thinking or some sign of Webber having anything more than a bit of basic common sense (which bodes well because many in football don''t even seem to have that).

7 players on big money are out of contract and we are not renewing them because by and large they have not performed and proven themselves worthy of new contracts and of course with half an eye to freeing up the wages. Perhaps Ruddy and Bennett the only two you raise a slight eyebrow at and wonder if we were tempted to offer them new deals but in truth Ruddy has not been great since his injury and Bennett has never kicked on in the way that we all hoped. I still think he will prove to be a decent defender under the right manager but perhaps best for all concerned to make a fresh start.

Much as with Bennett as with Ruddy. There must have been reasons for him to be dropped for Rudd then McGovern. Perhaps beyond simple football ones. It has been stated that players need to knuckle down and earn their wages (my words) and clearly we have seen they have not been doing the latter this season, or not regularly. For the money they are on I won''t be shedding a tear. Nor overly concerning myself with what went on before. It is a fresh start and one that promises to be one that will deliver. So hey ho, roll on the first week of August.
