Branston Pickle 4,145 Posted May 21, 2017 The whole thing about "free" transfers is that there''s a lot ''misleading'' within the group of players available within it: all it means is the player is out of contract, there''s ''pools'' of players within that. You have guys like Ruddy which were ostensibly a financial thing on the part of their club, those like Mulumbu who went out of contract and effectively not wanted (obviously finances play a part), and others like Marley Watkins who were wanted but let their contract run out. Could do a lot worse than bringing him in to help sort out the left back issues.The slim pickings on that list goes to show that clubs are getting better at managing player contracts and not losing better players on frees.
