Surely means one or more of our current midfielders will be leaving.

Interesting times as the ''budget'' is clearly there and Webber is looking to get the best use of it.

The new manager knows him and he was a bright spark in the Darmstadt team... Please let''s not start critisising before we''ve seen him play...

Dorrans is off, so I reckon this is a good move...

I seem to have a certain blind faith in any prospective signing by the new regime.

Quite unrealistic, especially as there is no track record to go on but understandable after having regular lolly-pops at most of AN''s signings.

Would this chap be a no nonsense defensive midfielder by any chance? Just guessing, yet to resort to Wiki.

He''s in the current Bosnia-Herzegovinia squad, they have a game tomorrow night, might be worth a look.

Bethnal speaks highly of him.........

Mario Vrancic? Yes fucking please. Wonderful player.

Vrancic was hyped up a lot a few years ago, never really happened for him though. Wand of a left foot. Hard worker and creates A LOT.

I know people hate stats, but Vrancic had the 5th highest key passes per game in Bundesliga, for the team that came bottom.

Sounds exciting. [Y]

There are quotes from him from somewhere now saying he''s signed a 3 year deal with us. Also says that he had two Bundesliga offers and an offer from Huddersfield but we offered the "best conditions" along with (although the translation is ropey) farke being insistent he came and selling the proposed style of play/ambition to him.

This seems like a promising signing.

Be good if true. And equally a little funny if Huddersfield lost out on him, to us, baring in mind their resentment when Webber came to us.

All about faith again, let''s hope this is all going to work out and our recruitment is going to go from dissapointing to outstanding🤔

Encouraging we are getting deals done and indicative that the old guard will be leaving in the coming weeks.

Now - how about a CB for the 3 season long problematic defence?
Part of teams that finished bottom of the bundesliga twice out of the last three seasons. Another relegation specialist?
I heard Wes Hoolahan was also part of a team which was relegated twice in three seasons. It means nothing. Vrancic could have been the one shining light in those teams.

Affordable, Farke will have seen plenty of him, and plays in a position where we may well lose the majority of last seasons squad members. Exactly the sort of signings we should be making during a squad overhaul.

Lets not criticise before we''ve seen him? I''d also say it''s therefore a bit premature to say it''s a good move...

I like how this looks, although some may turn this round and say that he turned down Huddersfield, because he knows he''s never going to get in their team, turned down 2 carp offers from the Bundesliga for shorter contracts, or similar reasons, and that we are going to pay him far more than any of the other clubs mentioned! Every cloud..........

Every single signing we make this summer is potentially a good one or a bad one. What I fail to see the point of is worrying that we may have signed a dud due to the relegations this player has been involved in, when in todays climate buying a top-flight player from a major European league for around the 750k-1.5m is pretty much a risk-free purchase. If we make half a dozen signings like this, yes they may not all work out, but we give ourselves a great opportunity to head in a new direction without the crazy Wildschut-style expensive signings.

Maybe "disappointment" would be more accurate? Is there any actual reason to think Huddersfield were anything but straight up and thoroughly professional in their handling of our approach for Webber? Webber is on record as saying that he sought Wagner''s opinion on Farke; would he have done that if relations between them were broken?

sorry westcoast, maybe I didn''t make myself clear. I''m referring to the vocal Huddersfield supporters who have been critical and obviously offered a little bit of abuse in Webbers decision to leave. Who are also now throwing their toys out on their equivalent ''pinkuns'' and twitters etc.

Should be fun on canary call;

if Farke was going to cause problems not sure how the UKippers will cope with the Bosnian Vrancic.

I saw a fair few Huddersfield fans posting they believed Wagner had recruited most of the German players, or at least told Webber who to sign. Wonder if they''ll start to rethink?
