pete 318 Posted June 17, 2017 https://thisisfutbol.com/2017/06/blogs/scottish-premier-league/naismith-odds-on-to-join-rangers/Four teams given odds to sign the Scottish Slacker but less than the £9m paid by City, hardly a surprise there. But will a move inspire Naismith or will we see him remain due to the inflated salary arranged by the Scots mafia. Honestly not fussed but would welcome his departure need to find places for our young midfielders.
Coq au vin 0 Posted June 17, 2017 Pete, profoundly realistic post from you, did you spend too much time in the sun today? Maybe one pint too many?? But yes, given all the latest edp tidbits it becomes more apparent we need to rustle up cash from somewhere. Naismith moved on now at a significant loss is better than a Naismith fulfilling his contractual obligations over the next few seasons costing more in the long run. And, as you quite correctly added, his release allows for youth development in his 10 role. This I would be more keen to see.
Diane 500 Posted June 20, 2017 I wanted him to stay tbh but think as he''s such a big earner, he''ll be leaving now

It's Character Forming 1,160 Posted June 21, 2017 I''m guessing the £9m is a reference to the £8.5m transfer fee which it was said we paid : http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35195533. There''s no chance we''d be able to sell him for that amount now or anything close. It has been suggested on here his wages are £2.5m/season with his contract covering the next 2 seasons. Who knows how that works for bonuses etc but it took a lot of persuasion to get him to move so I suspect it''s pretty much guaranteed.
