Puntino 75 Posted March 7, 2017 Can we really sack AN with no CEO? Surely the replacement will want his own man.
TCCANARY 263 Posted March 7, 2017 I suppose this is a bit like when a player signs for a club that doesn''t have a manager (like Redmond did this summer) it''s always a gamble.
komakino 272 Posted March 7, 2017 The board can can, but that will not happen. There is unlikely to be a new CEO as the role is to be split next season with Stone becoming M.D and Ricky Martin looking after the footballing side. Any CEO/M.D has no influence in sacking AN if Delia & Michael still want him as manager as they are majority shareholders and ultimately they decide.
It's Character Forming 1,156 Posted March 7, 2017 The OP''s comment is tantamount to saying that if a club changes its CEO, after the new CEO is appointed, it has to sack its existing manager & get a new manager in. The reality is that the owners ultimately call the shots, as with any club. Any new CEO would have to be happy with their position on the manager, otherwise he wouldn''t be appointed. So if they were to sack AN now, and get in a replacement, or a caretaker, either way it''s the same - a new CEO would have to be comfortable with their approach otherwise he couldn''t work with them. I would expect a CEO to have a great deal of influence, otherwise why bother having him. But in the end it''s their call.
