Pressure

Recommended Posts

This is the first season that Worthy has had to deal with the pressure of expectation and he''s failing dismally...

His first season when he took over the circus Hamilton had created all that he had to do was keep us up and even with that squad it was going to be easy.

The next season not much was expected and he took us to Cardiff.

Season after that Play Offs would have been a bonus and he just missed out.

Championship season was a huge over acheivement against expectations and last year no-one really expected him to keep us in the Prem and he managed to get us to the last day with a chance of staying up.

This season is the first that he''s had where the expectation at the start from fans and media alike is to be successful. Its the first where he''s had a squad capable of that success if he makes the right decisions and he is making a total pigs ear of it.Baffling substitutions, square pegs in round holes (not for the first time) and a total inability to motivate the players into dominating teams with far inferior squads and now he''s resorted to slagging the people that pay his not inconsiderable wages. It all adds up to the following conclusion - Worthy cannot handle the pressure.

Yes good point Maverick, but that is no excuse for our poor season so far! And it is clearly not just worthy who has been feeling it, i would argue that the players have felt the affect of pressure more! With many of them so far putting in very under-par performances too often! I still have hope though, and believe that NW and the team can turn it around.
