Strongest squad in the league

Recommended Posts

Based on experience and cost of players but definitely not actual ability.

Not many would get in to Newcastle/Brightons starting 11.

I think even Rotherham would turn their noses up at our defenders, wouldn''t keep a single one for next season.

More Premier League appearances than any other squad in the Championship - but that''s about it and doesn''t really count for much.

We may off had £30mil on the bench but the problem is we bought Lidl players at M&S prices but that doesn''t mean that they are, or can perform to, the higher standard. And quite a few have gone past their best before date.

Cannot really compare a successful business like Lidl to this crowd we have as our BOD

Look at our appointments Mrs Fry one 30 minute appearance at the AGM before making his exit because of a prior engagement

Then Dancing Ed moves in plus Master Tom

Add to it the fiasco of the sponsorship of the Jarrold Stand being given to a company with less assets than a Big Issue Seller

It can''t get any worse can it

Strongest squad? some of them committing rookie errors week after week, playing like a bunch of b3llends winding down to retirement

A good team is more than the sum of it''s parts we are actually less imo. I wouldn''t be surprised if a number of the players potentially going to be released at the end of the season go on to play well for their new clubs.

Finding players that compliment each other in a clear system has to be the top priority. The defence doesn''t have to be full of brilliant individual defenders it has to be full of players than can play as a unit, the current lot play like a bunch of strangers.
Who actually came up with that comment
The earliest reference I could find for this season was from Aug 2016 in a preview to the season piece by Iwan Roberts.Hope that helps!

He''s bought a house and he''s filming a sit com but he hasn''t said he''s moving there.

Has been reported by various newspapers that Stephen Fry has played in the back 4 at a number of local clubs.

Not sure if he would fit into the present back four

Yellowbeagle: "Finding players that compliment each other in a clear system has to be the top priority. The defence doesn''t have to be full of brilliant individual defenders it has to be full of players than can play as a unit, the current lot play like a bunch of strangers."

This perfectly captures what has been wrong with our defence since day 1. In my opinion, there is often games where it actually appears that the back four don''t particularly like each other complete with a lot of finger pointing and shouting.

All you have to do is look at Southamptons back four in their promotion/first few seasons in the prem. Yes they had a Luke Shaw & Clyne for full-backs, but Fonte and Lovren/Yoshida/Hooiveld ON PAPER, were average players. Key was they communicated and played as a unit.
