Win play-offs but refused entry to Premier League?

Recommended Posts

It could happen to Reading........A Chinese consortium who tried to buy Hull City last year were turned away by the PL but the Football League have since granted "conditional approval". As the thread title says, they could win promotion but refused entry to the Premier League.Conversely, their current Thai owners have admitted the can no longer afford to continue financially support the club so Saturdays 7-1 defeat here seems to be the least of their problems."The ELF have since granted conditional approval of a ''change of

control'' at the Championship club, though unconfirmed reports suggest

the Premier League could now block Reading''s promotion to the top-flight

should they go up.

Reading FC are yet to comment on the claim, but co-chairmwoman Lady

Sasima explained how the Thai owners can no longer afford to run the

club.""Lady Sasima, who turns 80 in October, explained how handing over the

reins to the Chinese group is in the long-term interests of

promotion-chasing Royals.

"I did say to Reading fans that we''d be here for a long time, we

weren''t going to ''hit and run'' or abandon the club no matter what,” she

stressed.

“That''s not what we are doing. We are doing this to save the club".

Can you imagine the fans ecstasy after winning at Wembley then the despair after being turned away by the Premier League?

I''m disappointed Lappin. I would have thought with your magnificent 13 thousand + posts and the clear fanatical focus you have on this board to be able to keep track of all Waveney''s aliases (did anyone hear his namecheck on The Scrimmage BTW?) that you would have seen this: http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun-forums/cs/forums/3515269/ShowPost.aspx.

I really love this bit "unconfirmed reports suggest

the Premier League could now block Reading''s promotion".It translates as ''we lifted this story from another web site, we''ve no idea if its true but we need the clicks as much as everyone else''.

This again. It was pretty unconvincing in The Telegraph the first time around.
