Another opportunity missed

Recommended Posts

Same old, same old dross. Why are players like Maddison and Godfrey not given experience gaining game time? Who cares if we lose? The season is over so give the youngsters a chance to gain first team experience.

Same old Crafty! Those playing today are under intense scrutiny -- by Webber, and almost certainly by whoever he intends to bring in as head coach. They are interested in the players who have underperformed the season, not the likes of Godfrey and Maddison.

The result vindicates Irvine''s starting selection. But I thought the second half could have been the ideal scenario for bringing on one or two of the youngsters in a non-pressured match environment.

You think Webber doesn''t already know about the capabilities of the senior players? If that''s the case it doesn''t bode well.

The second half would have been ideal for Maddison and/or Godfrey. Another opportunity missed.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, given how sections of the Snakepit were berating Jacob Murphy for a mis hit shot (only to chant his name later after he scored) I am not sure that it would be conducive to their development if they were playing at CR when things were not going so well......

But he also said he had a lot to learn about them as individuals, their character etc. Paraphrased, he needs to identify those with the stomach for the campaign ahead, hence his interest in the response to Huddersfield''s final nail in the coffin of our season.

Classic Nutty to take a comment out of context to try and score a point.

The season is over in terms of achieving anything. Thus if playing some of the younger players results in us losing in this context the result is less important than the experience gained by the youngsters.

Of course Nutty knows this is what I meant but just can''t help himself.

The season may be over, but there are still sections of the support ready to boo and berate at the first opportunity, do you really think that it would be good for the youngsters to be playing in a game when things are not going so well as they were Saturday?.....
