Fulham match thread

Don''t normally hop on the player bashing bandwagon right after an incident but Bennett is sh1t5 and completely lacks the mental strength and football intelligence to play at this level. He''s the worst of a bad bunch and I''ve been saying that for a while. This should''ve been a chance for Godfrey, he can''t possibly do any worse!

Exactly the performance and result that was needed in front of Webber......wouldn''t want the wool pulled over his eyes two weeks running....

Are people still wondering why Irvine has kept selecting the same team instead of blooding some youngsters? Today demonstrates why -- Webber is being given a perfect demonstration of this team''s fragility. Far more representative than the win over Reading.

Presumably this is what Webber wants. They must have spent time discussing what the strategy is for the rest of the season, and I can''t see Irvine deliberately contradicting him.

Absolutely nothing left to play for, we''ve even pretty much sealed finishing above Ipsh*te, perfect chance to give a couple of the younger lads a chance from the bench *sigh*
Totally agree but none on the bench yet again. Last week obviously a blip!

Irvine clearly has no faith in the youth, and only chance we''ll get to assess is in pre season games, which tell you little

Well done Irvine. We all know you don''t care but another wasted chance City!
Could it be that Webber wants to assess the first team senior players?

Jerome is almost always immense off the bench. Gave some of his best performances in 14/15 from the bench as well. It does him a bit of a disservice but I think thats his best role, impact sub. Hope we keep him next year but I also hope he doesn''t wind up being first choice starter for most of the season as well, he should start sometimes obviously, but hopefully Oliviera will stay fit and be our main man next year

Well there you are Stuart Webber, good luck sorting this f*cking disaster out, not a single defender in our squad is good enough.

Basically, we lost 1-2 to ten men. Not good.

Mr Webber''s notes;A new goalkeeper. A new defence. Some midfielders. At least one, if not two, new forwards. New coach and assistants. Some scouts. £32.27 in the kitty. Bollox!!

What annoys me is that with Martin sent off, why didn''t we march out for the 2nd half with two up front?

Just sums up the season. Defensively appalling, no fight at all when going behind, showing a bit of character once we DO get a goal only to concede another shocking goal. Dire performance in a dire season.
Martin & Bennett are playing at least 2 leagues above their level!
And Klose looks like he cant be a*sed most of the time, yet another howler for their first goal today.

to be fair, going forward we aren''t bad, it''s the defence and the overall frail physicality of the side that let us down. A big, positive lad like Pontius Jansson from Leeds (though they are getting him permenantly) would go a long way to sorting our problems out as well as finding a proper replacement for tettey or getting Thompson and dorrans fit.

The balance is off as well. we play 2 marauding full backs alongside 2 soft centre backs and a frail defensive mid. time to get a bit more functional and a bit more playing with purpose. leave the creativeness to pritchard and the wingers. Fulham as well as looking dangerous matched more or less all our crosses and corners with ease with 2 pretty ordinary but proper centre backs and a strong midfield.
