Chesney Hawkes 0 Posted February 25, 2017 Four defeats in a row now and Wolves dropping down the table after a home defeat to the awful Birmingham.Maybe Norwich City was the best thing to ever happen to Paul Lambert? A symbiotic relationship which both have struggled to recover from, but it looks like our club is bouncing back rather better than the man himself.
Gordon Bennett 768 Posted February 25, 2017 Really interesting to see the current fortunes of both Lambert and Bruce. Whatever your opinions of AN it shows how difficult management in this league can be, and therefore I guess how well Hughton has done since at Brighton too. morty 0 Posted February 25, 2017 Agreed GB, perhaps the board see things the same way. Perhaps they aren''t as daft as some people think....
Move Klose 303 Posted February 25, 2017 Lambert has lost it. No suprise its been since he lost his 2 right hand men. Been in a relegation fight since he left us. Think he will continue to slip down the footballing ladder. Can see him being outta work before end of the season.
Barclay seats 4849 the 3rd 0 Posted February 25, 2017 Lambert will recover and prove his unarguable abilities as a manager ,, but when he is able to do what he did with Ncfc , build a squad with hungry players . Not even Ranieri could get two years from players who feel " entitled" . The only mistake our board is making right now is to believe that "coco" Neil will ever be able to get consistent performance from our squad .
......and Smith must score. 1,304 Posted February 25, 2017 Where''s Waveney when Paul needs him ? [:D]
king canary 7,455 Posted February 25, 2017 Sometimes manager and club just click and everything works. Lambert had extraordinary success here but can''t replicate it elsewhere. Just as it seems to have clicked for Hughton at Brighton while it didn''t happen here.
Syteanric 1 Posted February 25, 2017 Lambert took a side too good for league 1 out of it then rode the crest of a massive wave in the championship. He left before he got found out.... but then isn''t that what a savvy manager should do?Redknapp and Allardyce are 2 examples
king canary 7,455 Posted February 25, 2017 It''s doing Lambert a huge disservice to claim he would have been found out if he stayed - we don''t know that.
im spartacus canary 0 Posted February 25, 2017 Lambert at Norwich, Ranieri at Leicester ....2 perfect storms never to be repeated by either clubs or managers.

AJ 1,218 Posted February 25, 2017 Jamie Witherspoon - Bit odd to suggest NCFC struggled to recover after Lambert considering we''ve spent more seasons in the Prem than out of it and spent more money and been in a better financial position than ever before. But ho hum, I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion... Dicky 0 Posted February 25, 2017 Loved the time under Lambert, but he did get lucky. Took over a club far too good for Div 1, had the benefit of a Grant Holt on fire, load of momentum. Worst mistake he made was leaving for a "bigger club....". He has left Villa far worse off than when he joined, did the same to Blackburn and will do the same to Wolves (which I am pleased about). He will clear off to Germany in the lower leagues and disappear never to be heard of again. From all accounts, not a nice man. A good ride when he was here, but found his level? He had to create that momentum...Villa are a basket case club - bigger managers than Lambert have failed thereLeft Blackburn in a worse position than when he found it - no he didnt...Will do the same with Wolves - who knows, hes only had a couple of months or so nobody knowsClear off to Germany in the lower leagues? Spillay 168 Posted February 26, 2017 Culverhouse and Karsa were massive for Lambo while he was here with us, they really were an integral part of the machine. Without them.. well the results speak for themselves.

Without them.. well the results speak for themselves.[/quote]Karsa was without doubt the mastermind behind Lambert. He had a photographic memory and could recall every move from every player in the league. This gave him the ability to provide Lambert with the blueprint for every opponent. His grasp of detail in match preparation was second to none.As for Lambert himself, well it''s the curse of Norwich isn''t it? It is doing to him what it did to Walker, Machin and Bond before him.
