The departure of Moxey simply confirms a trend at Norwich City - that people in senior positions do not last very long. It therefore reflects very badly on the owners of the club as they, ultimately, are the ones in charge.

Consider the facts.

Bowkett, McNasty and Moxey have left in the space of 14 months.

The recruitment department head is also a revolving door: Ewan Chester (twice), Barry Simmonds, interregnum lasting nine months, Lee Darnborough, Mulbarton Man.

And as if matters couldn''t get any worse, the U-23 manager sees fit to walk.

So what do all these events say about Delia and Wynnie? Clearly the direction they have set for the club is at odds with many of the most senior people who have worked for them; except of course the poodle Alex Neil whose remit from Delia and Wynnie is to downsize the club with a view to returning to League 1.

I mean let''s face it, if Delia and Wynnie have no money and they propose to hand over to the boy Tom, who also has no money, how will the club ever compete once the parachute payments run dry? League 1 is the obvious destination within this scenario.

Those Norwich fans who are celebrating the departure of Moxey are probably the same ones who celebrated the departure, wrongly, of McNasty. Rather than looking at the headline event in isolation, fans need to look at the deeper, underlying problems at the club and start pointing the finger of blame in the direction of those who are properly to blame. After all, they appointed the boy Moxey and at the time of his appointment he was hailed as the outstanding candidate who fended off competition from people at EPL clubs. It reflects very badly on the owners that after such a lengthy and not inexpensive recruitment process, they wound up with someone who only lasted 6 months.

There is now also the not so small matter of Moxey''s compensation. Given that he appeared to be pushed, rather than resigned, it will not come as any surprise if the compensation for loss of office could run into millions. Again, not reflecting very well on the club''s owners, is it? A significant portion of the Brady, Olsson, Canos money is going to be heading to Mr Moxey''s bank account. No wonder we couldn''t afford to properly rebalance the squad in this window - because the Moxey departure (and its financial consequence) had been brewing for some time for those who ultimately control the strings to the purse.

Definitely not promotion, not promotion, not promotion now.

Vince, do you really, honestly think and believe that Delia, who bleeds yellow and green, and her hubby, along with  Alex Neil, are in the process of downsizing this club to L1 status, a place we have only been to for 1 season in the last six decades?..and if so, at least give us some plausible reasons why you think that. For a start, spending 7 million pounds on a winger on the last day of the window is part of this downsizing?

Oh have you forgotten that we let go Ollsen Brady and Canos and even by most conservative estimate made 10 million profit in this window . Compare that to our rivals like Villa etc .

Dunno why so many people are people happy with Moxey going when he probably demanded the same as every Norwich fan with a modicum of common sense, the sacking of Alex Neil. Yet once again the clueless cook has shown it''s her way or the highway. And fan''s are celebrating this!? Absolute shambles.

Of course Delia wants to downsize the club.

She has voiced her disapproval of the Premier League on numerous occasions and so it suits her well to be out of it. The Championship is becoming more of a Premier League 2 with every passing season so it will soon suit her to be out of it too.

Delia disapproves of the amount of money sloshing around in football today so therefore League 1 is her natural home.

Delia and Wynnie do not have the money to be competitive in the top two divisions once the parachute payments run out. They are suited to the League 1 financial landscape. The only reason they were able to buy Wildschut is because of the parachute payments this season and having a valuable player in Brady that they were able to cash in on first. Moreover you could argue that the Wildschut signing IS part of the downsizing because he is only proven at League 1 level and he was due to be heading back there given Wigan''s league position.

Delia and the club have stated they want to get rid of some of the high earners and promote the best academy players in their place. If this is not downsizing I don''t know what is.

With the current owners remaining in their place, downsizing is the only viable option because every promotion to the Premier League will be met with another relegation due to lack of competitiveness in the big money league. How many times do you need to get relegated to realise that you are just not up to it?

The arrival of Red Bull could transform the club''s prospects, but until that happens all of the above applies.
