Howson's Volley

Recommended Posts

I reckon that''s the best volley I''ve ever seen at Carrow Road. Drops out of the sky, hits the top corner, two keepers wouldn''t save it. Watch his technique. Unstoppable.

Thought it deserved a thread of its own.

A very good evening to you all.

Actually Lessingham I sit third row back just behind goal of lower barclay and thought Hoolahans was better at first....but having seen the replay of Howsons it was immense.

Both feet off the ground when he hit it, stunning goal. All five were pretty tasty tbh.And we beat the scabby welsh in their own backyard. Tops weekend!!

Well Yoda, you should of seen the one from 41 years ago................

Seriously brilliant volley by JH. Have seen some stills of him just connecting with ball, and that makes it seem even better.

Fabulous goal. Will long live in the memory. Jonny Howson is still underated. I guess because he quietly gets on with his job. He was a huge miss earlier this season. If this goal gets him POTS it will be no more than he deserves.

One of the best goals I''ve ever seen. The technique and skill required to hit ball falling from that height on the volley is unbelievable.

If that had been scored by a more well known name it would have been lauded all over the world and be on every football show.

Total class

Sky''s Soccer AM (such a shame its dying a slow death!) show next Saturday should in their Championship goals and Trekkers highlight packages just consist of all five of our goals today!

certainly one of the best I''ve seen at Carrow Rd.

.....the best ever though would still be Goss'' away at Leeds in ''93.

I was sat right behind it at the other end, and whereas Howson today had to catch it with the outside of his foot to cut accross the ball in order keep it below the bar....Goss caught it full on , with full power ,the fact it hit the underside of the bar on the way in also made it look better...

Wasn''t there today… But I was there for Safri''s against the Geordies, so that still remains the best goal I''ve seen at Carrow Rd in person. What a goal though!

Howson''s today has to be amongst the best I have seen. Watching from the River End it was amazing following it in. Then we had the other four, all great goals. Where have this team been!

IMHO, Jonny is one if our best kept secrets and we want to keep him that way. Otherwise, he''ll end up going somewhere like Stoke for a miserable £10 million or so.

Ssshhhh!!!!

I agree about Goss'' goal at Leeds, however I''d like to add that the oft forgotten and seldom shown build up to it, the many passes that led up to it, contributed to what made it the best goal for me.  Also not forgetting that it was part of one of the most complete Norwich displays ever, winning 4 - 0 away at the reigning league champions!Goss certainly had a ferocious hit on him - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-psiElPI1I

His goal seems to be generating a lot of interest on social media. And rightly so, cracking technique.

.

agreed it was one helluva away victory.....although sadly it can''t be claimed against the reigning champions....this was 93/94....Man United were the Champions the previous season.

I remember poor old David O''Leary in Leeds defence who must have been about 35 being absolutely roasted by Sutton,Fox and Robins......it was probably one of his last ever games before retiring
