Cantiaci Canary 556 Posted December 23, 2016 We are experiencing the dying embers of the Lambert legacy ... get used to it.As more and more Championship sides get bought up by ambitious investors 10th may well end up being a realistic objective.
ZLF 274 Posted December 23, 2016 Never has the adage the table nevers lies been more apt. 10th accurately describes where the manager and players performances deserve to be, move wages to a per point won and goal scored basis I say.As for hambitious investors, only Newcastle are above us with a more expensively assembled & paid squad, ''hinvestment is a red herring here - whats the point of sputniking more cash up the bedroom walls? It only leaves the under-performing players feeling even more comfortable and their slimey agents wealthier. Longer term perhaps, but its not the issue for the 2016 malaise. That is squarely player arrogance, over confidence and lack of drive.

Cantiaci Canary 556 Posted December 23, 2016 The investment point is a concern for the future.Right now we have an expensively assembled squad for the Championship but that''s only due to begrudged spending from the recent few Premier League seasons. If this squad isn''t jelled and pushed to its potential then we''ll miss an opportunity to leap back up and spend again. The trend is for Championship sides to be bought up by big investors ... we''ll watch them ease past us before long.
Creative Midfielder 1,996 Posted December 23, 2016 What makes you think the squad isn''t being pushed to its potential? Some of the youngsters are looking promising but aren''t yet the finished product. What is killing us is that many of the senior players just aren''t producing anything like the performances of two or three years ago and despite what we may have thought at the start of the season what we''ve actually seen is that they are no longer capable of it.So the only ''pushing'' I can see that will achieve anything is dropping them and playing more youngsters but of course most on here will then crucify the manager for being clueless in playing inexperienced youngsters as soon as one of them makes a mistake, which they inevitably will.
