Countryside Canary 0 Posted January 2, 2017 I really hope Alex doesn''t make wholesale changes from today''s starting line up. If he does and we lose surely it would be the final nail in the coffin for him.
Chesney Hawkes 0 Posted January 2, 2017 Tinkering isn''t the same thing as making wholesale changes.
Clint 221 Posted January 2, 2017 We don''t have a league match for a couple of weeks, lots can happen in that time! I think it''s safe to say there''ll be plenty of changes for the cup.
Guest Posted January 2, 2017 Forgetting the Cup match, the next six league matches are against teams propping up the division. If he really wants to restore himself to the good books then we need to harvest against these sides.Wes played 90 minutes as did Oliveira so we can destroy the myth that they can''t play a full match. If you are winning and playing well, you glide around the pitch. So there doesn''t need to be any changes barring injuries.
morty 0 Posted January 2, 2017 So basically, for some, it boils down to if he makes changes and we win, thats okay, but if we don''t, he''s tinkering?

These decisions are not made on the basis of whether a player can stay on the pitch for 90 minutes on a single afternoon, and they are not made on the basis of subjective calls by the manager. The modern player''s physical condition is constantly being monitored and the body is the best informant there is about what demands can sensibly be placed on it, including how much recovery time it needs and when risk of this or that type of injury becomes unacceptably high.
