Big Vince 241 Posted January 9, 2017 Greg Downs on Canary Call was spot on to identify the weaknesses in the squad and the failure of the recruitment department to address those weaknesses. He correctly pointed to the failure to invest in centre-halves in the past couple of years and the failure to build a side around a strong central spine - goalkeeper, centre-halves, centre midfield and striker. He correctly pointed to the centre-halves playing too far apart and not picking players up. This could also be a coaching/management failure because the manager should have this worked out before each game. If the players are not listening to him it means he has lost them. The question is: why do Delia and Wynnie not spot these failings and take them up with the people concerned? It can only be that they are not competent owners and this is just one example of how they are holding the club back. There are others................ Mickdundee 0 Posted January 9, 2017 Because they havnt got a clue about football. It''s why we''ve given Neil too long instead of getting rid last year And it''s definitely what he wants the centre backs to split as we do it all the time.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted January 9, 2017 He is a very knowledgeable and intelligent person regarding our club alas he does not have the money to even think about buying her out, may be a better and cheaper option than Moxey though
Fraz 2 Posted January 9, 2017 Don''t think it is really delia''s fault, quite clearly she has no idea how to run a football club, hence she has always got in others to do the job, though saying that maybe she is responsible for Mcnally & Bowkett leaving, 2 men who took the club from near bankruptcy to debt free as it is today and I don''t think putting her nephew on the board has helpedMaybe her time has run out and she knows it, this maybe the reason for Moxey''s appointment, he has been involved in selling clubs in the past. Bill 1,788 Posted January 9, 2017 Or maybe Michael Wyn Jones who was a very successful publisher might have an ideaor maybe some of the usual suspects on here are struggling to find any real stick to beat the club with
morty 0 Posted January 9, 2017 Must just be complete luck that Delia has managed all these years then, eh?
Big Vince 241 Posted January 9, 2017
Must just be complete luck that Delia has managed all these years then, eh?
Yes, Delia has got away with a lot because of who she is and her gender. Can you imagine Chase having got away with all her failings? There are some people who just waltz through life all teflon-coated because they are adept at deflecting the blame onto others. And Canary fans have fallen for it line, hook and sinker because in the past they have blamed anyone and anything except Delia.
Bill 1,788 Posted January 9, 2017 Are we to assume then Mr Pig Mince that all your failings are due to your gender ?

Eccles from Beccles 0 Posted January 9, 2017 That was Greg Downs? All that lisping, I thought it was Roy Hodgson.

Marchant 5 Posted January 9, 2017 I agree he is a good pundit, but like many good pundits, they''ve never really done it for real. If they are that good, maybe they should try it. Many of those that do have been known to fall flat on their a*ses (Gary Neville)?
Len 74 Posted January 9, 2017 I still can''t understand why Wynn-Jones allowed his wife to join the board. There has to be a proper boundary else there will be chaos!
Guest Posted January 9, 2017 Are you a regular Canary Caller by any chance Vince?"Delia and Neil are clueless, have no idea what they''re doing, running a club is common sense. That guy Downs, he sounds good on the radio - he should take over from Delia."Top trolling, meanwhile, back in the real world...

The problem in this real world is that the Board are not in it - they inhabit some parallel universe to the real world on the pitch. The real world has demonstrated over and over that the entire back four and goalie are no good and that the manager has no control over his centre-backs playing 25 yards apart thus creating ample space for opposition players to waltz into scoring positions.
