Transfer madness

Recommended Posts

The last few windows have been so bad as to be almost amusing. We have been crying out for a better defence for years but only seem to sign players we dont actually want or use...

Canos- why did we buy him? I rate him. But he doesnt ever play and is now touted as off again

Maddison- dont get me started. Why splash out for a player and send him straight to Scotland?

Naismith- clearly wasn''t interested. Could have financed two good defenders with what we paid.

Pritchard- massive outlay- used as a bit part and clearly not being utilised. Why?

McGovern- wasn''t needed. Not as good as Ruddy. What was the point.

All of which highlights that Alex Neil hasn''t got a clue how to actually build a team. He just buys decent players he fancies then tries to shoe horn them in or else ignores them. And this scatter gun approach in recent windows shows why we are disjointed now and stuttering.

IMHO we need a new manager who can ship out what really isnt needed and start putting together a cohesive team to challenge for promotion.

What I think will happen is: some stupid speculation that gets our hopes up- followed by two or three big earners going and then signing another midfielder and a very uninspiring CB no better than we have.

Totally agree. It''s so blatantly obvious.

Moxey''s first real test. McNasty would have the blade sharpened or even the deed done by now.

We''ve missed out on a couple of liklies IMO, mainly Steve Bruce .... a proper manager, with contacts other than in Scotland, ability to handle players and experience by the bucket load.

Yes, we had a fairly terrible summer window again.

£15m odd spent on four players, only one of whom is a regular starter.

£10m spent on attacking midfielders when we were already well stocked in this position.

A goalkeeper we didn''t really need and who isn''t any better than the ones we already have.

Still no money spent on the obvious weaknesses in defence.
