Sadly with the game just 10 minutes old, the football was overshadowed by a serious injury to Jason Shackell. He fell awkwardly after an innocuous aerial challenge, and appears badly hurt. Re. the game itself, it failed to take off after the early shock, and despite Watford fielding Les Ferdinand and a couple of players whe featyred against us at first team level, both sides strugled to make an impact. All the relevant action took place towards the end of the game, with Louis Jean htting a post from point blank range, Martin missing a virtual open goal, the lively henderson winning a penalty, subsequently squandered by the hapless jarrett, henderson then winning a free kick, which brennan blasted in with the aid of a deflection, thankfully keeping jarrett away from the set piece. Watford then hit the underside of the bar, and we scraped away with a 1-0 win! In summary, not too mmuch to shout about, Fleming charlton brennan henderson all ok, passing very poor, jarrett terrible all evening, halliday impressive as shackells replacement.

Cheers CD,

Looks as though we might have bought a stumor in Jarret and sad to see Shacks got injured.

But the silver lining maybe young Matthew Halliday''s emergence, perhaps this is one youngster that Worthy will bring through eventually.

Thanks for the report.
