Apparently the league is our priority?!

Recommended Posts

It''s unusual for him to give out his excuse for the game before kick-off! Must be trying a new tactic to throw the press off guard this week. Bet the post match interview will be incredibly dull.

MB: "So Alex, how do you feel about the record breaking 12-0 loss today?

AN: "I told you guys before the match, the league is our priority..."

Didn''t I read somewhere (onhere?) that Le Tissier suggested that the Saints wouldn''t be putting out their strogest side.

Can''t see why though. Teams comfortably placed in the PL at this stage of the season are usually positioned to have a good stab at the FA Cup, especially as many of the teams above them are involved in Europe.

It would be rich if we got a result. AN would likely get an extra ten years on his contract.

Surely we might as well have a go tomorrow night? Unlikely to get promoted or relegated this season, I''d have thought this IS the time to give it a go, otherwise when on earth is?!. If the league is priority, which I understand, then hopefully he''ll play a bunch of hungry kids tomorrow night because I''m hoping to see a relatively competitive match!

Well that has cleared up any confusion as we glide towards the bottom half of the table. I hate to think what performances will be like if the league is not the priority

To all the NCFC fans on the Free Trip to Southampton nice to know that the Manager has decided to not give a toss to the FA Cup and concentrate on making the Playoffs

Jesus Christ Daly, you''re boring.I suspect no matter what team he puts out, you''ll find a reason to moan about it.

its fairly obvious hes just holding out for the compensation, he couldnt give a sh1t about the club as long as he gets his money

[/quote]no its nothe would get a hell of a lot more respect for putting the club first, walking away without a pay out, and holding his hands up and admitting hes well out of his depth, all he has to do is say he gave it his best shot but the conditions were against him

because if he carries on like he is, gets sacked, and walks off with a grin and a pocket full of cash with us sitting lower half of the league and potentially not far off a relegation battle hes going to end up looking a hell of a lot worse

I''ve posted this before, but often in this kind of situation the two parties come to some compromise over a severance pay.

I seem to remember that many considered this to be the case over the Adams "resignation."

If Saturday goes against us then Neil could find himself in an impossible position especially if the crowd react. He might wish for a way out.

If it doesn''t happen this Saturday and things carry on as they are it will happen sooner rather than later.

Surely any sensible manager would sent out his strongest team for this match. A victory against the Saints would be a good morale booster which is sorely needed. As Terry Butcher said on Look East a win is a win. What is the point of sending a weakened team against what may be Soton reserves. Yes we might get another injury but that''s a reasonable risk to take.

The league is certainly Alex Neil''s priority even if it isn''t ours.

Ironically this is one of the rare seasons in recent history where our league situation arguably wouldn''t hamper a cup run as we are often either trying to get promoted from a division or stay in one.

But Neil is clinging onto this job by his fingertips and will obviously be judged more by Wolves on Saturday than tomorrow.

if we were looking any another club in our position in their league, we''d say that theyre mid table with nothing to play for and can afford to have a tilt at the cup........like it or not , we''re one of them too.....our league season is over

We can''t afford to fall into the trap of thinking we''re safe from being drawn into the relegation scrap. We''re showing relegation form. Let''s at least try and secure another season in the chumps.

Morty

100% certain you are the love child of someone at CR

Whatever anyone posts regarding present set up, playing reserves for the reserves in a game which the winners play Arsenal is not on. Also not fair to the travelling support.

Sure you are ready with your usual put down in your comments
