The dross we see week in week out after 2 years is neils team and going from bad to worse. djc 0 Posted January 19, 2017 When we got promoted, we were like a high performance car.That same car has since not have decent investment in maintenance or replacement of old worn parts. What was once a small tinny rattling noise which was ignored has now become something more of a cough and spluttering, with rusty holes getting ever larger at the back. It needs an overhaul and oil change, but the owners still loves it for what it once was rather than what they have let it become, although its now kept partially out of sight in the garage rather than proudly out on driveway at front of house for our neighbours to enviously pear at from time to time. Now they quietly mock and sneer.Oh, and we need a new driver too. Ours once crashed spectacularly in Newcastle, and so changed his driving style to something which didnt suit the high performance car. He did however take the car back to Newcastle, and crashed almost as badly. His confidence is gone, and so the high performance car with "glory days out" will sadly remain a dim and distant memory. king canary 7,603 Posted January 19, 2017 That team got promoted on the back of pretty staggering run of form that was always going to be difficult to replicate. Factor in players getting older and money wasted on players who don''t really improve the first XI then it''s not surprise we''ve not just returned to previous form.
