GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,061 Posted November 5, 2016 in seasons gone by had we have scored a last minute equalizer and then the 4th official holds the board up with 7 minutes injury time....Carrow Road would have been baying to go and get the winner. However as soon as that board went up today, such is the nervousness and the lack of mental and physical fitness of our team together with the fragility of our defence , the feeling was that we would be easily capable on conceding again in that space of time if not twice. These late goals continue to happen , as a spillover from last season and now into this. If this coaching team aren''t able to drill this defence better or condition into a better shape to perform for the whole of games including injury time.....then they must go in favour of one that can
nutty nigel 7,952 Posted November 5, 2016 Agreed GeeJayMy grandson said to me he''d take a draw when Lafferty scored. In a game where we had been second best for so long that would have been a result. But we conceded in just two minutes. Going on to win would have been nice but we should have made sure of the point. Similarly last week we should have made sure it didn''t get beyond 3-0. Mental fitness is the issue for me.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted November 6, 2016 We have conceded 27goals in 16 games if we keep that up we will have an end of season total of 77 7 more than our relegation season under roeder. Fortunes can change but the actions and body language of the whole club suggests quite a few seasons in the wilderness is around the corner
hogesar 10,926 Posted November 6, 2016 Problem is thecanaryfan , look at the squad we have now compared to the ones Grant, Roeder and Gunn had. They''re not really comparable.
Jim Smith 2,641 Posted November 6, 2016 The combination of that interview and watching a match like that frankly makes me wonder if I want to continue to bother. I will of course but I feel as low about my club at the moment as I have for a long time. People outside of our club would find that strange given our league position, financial status etc but I just feel we are rudderless and chucking it away. Capt. Pants 5,140 Posted November 6, 2016 Neil is going nowhere regardless of whether we call for his head or not. The players looked utterly broken at the end amidst a chorus of a few boos. The cook has outlined the future in that dreaded Times interview and I really can''t see how we can move forward. I didn''t hear a single chant in favour of the manager yesterday, not one. I think the fans can now see what''s ahead with Neil as manager and there''s absolutely nothing we can do about it.

GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,061 Posted November 6, 2016
We were all gutted at the outcome today, most fans I think recognised however that what happened at the end of the game could hardly be laid at the managers door, to do that would be ignoring the fact that the entire team switched off and let themselves down badly.
eh??.....who was it that inexplicably picked "Timmy chocolate wrists" after that debacle at Brighton last week??!? hogesar 10,926 Posted November 6, 2016 Agree with you on the mental fitness side of things nutty. I suppose it''s a frailty you can''t get away with in the champs when teams will constantly lump balls into the box.
Van wink 2,994 Posted November 6, 2016 The mental fitness and lack of self belief has been a problem for ages but nothing has changed. There have been numerous posts suggesting the coaching team needs some help to focus on these glaring weaknesses, shame.

sonyc 6,145 Posted November 6, 2016 Jim, that is exactly where I am and feel. There is no future plan apart from entrenchment by the board, into a kind of protected hollow. Then there is an obstinate manager, looking lost too. The team are mirroring the situation. Even the crowd are listless these days. Weird because we are in the top 6 too.Of course I am 100% a supporter, that is for life. But my first thought now is to stop posting, not to air my thoughts, it isn''t worth it. Somehow you wonder if together as fans we make any difference. It''s clear we don''t. It isn''t the case that we are part of something big. I''m a big Delia fan, always have been. Her comments though have ripped out a lot of soul and hope. Never expected she would have that effect. Then, Parma Ham''s post is the best here I have read too in some time, articulate and true about the nature of football. Maybe I now need to be far less active, not watching so much and find better ways to fill my time or better still, not waste my time here. Maybe just support the community foundation post. My view is irrelevant as are many posters'' views. That is the world of Norwich City. And yet, there is a positive because at times like this, you can really for the Charltons, the Coventry''s, hell, even the Leeds Uniteds, for what they have been through. Would hate that to happen to us. Whilst we have now only a declining situation ahead for many years, we still do have local owners. The situation is turning a bit stale. Sometimes you have to go with that flow, accept your lot, resign, retire, step back and wait for renewal. It will come. I''m too ''old'' Norfolk I reckon though to fight it and get annoyed. Heavens, the wife tells me I am being pathetic getting annoyed each time and upset. She is right....There is more to life isn''t there? It is just sport.Rudolph, you''re right with your title! bringbackchippy 53 Posted November 6, 2016 Tell you what the problem is, the Snake Pit used to be full of boisterous, loud, in your face lads. All rushing down when we scored, giving the stewards a hell of a time! Problem was a lot of those lads got banned about 3 years ago, letting ''shirties'' and wig wearing numpties infiltrate taking up the spare seats left, thinking they were the dogs boll.cks. Now they want to sing OTBC 20 times a game and ''YE Army all the time, the remaining Snake Pitters are fed up with it( l count myself included) the songs are repetative crap, thats why the atmosphere has died. The Snake Pit died 3 years ago.
