Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted November 5, 2016 A season and a half nearly of poor performances, individual mistakes, late goals against and white knuckle ride even when we win seems to have made the crowd nervous and lifeless. All around me did not know whether to laugh or cry at todays performance which lets face it could have been a 2- 5 defeat as leeds bossed us and miss some good chances. On the way out i passed an isolated soul clapping as many looked on. It is almost as if everyone knows it is getting worse by the game but the board have no track record or energy to arrest the decline. Morale seems very low at the moment as so many troop out with hardly a squeak seemingly accepting our fate.
JF 694 Posted November 5, 2016 Was amazed at how little people seemed to care at the final whistle. I was fully expecting it to turn nasty as it did with Hughton
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted November 5, 2016 Thats what i mean, i thought it would start to get a bit lively but it is almost as if everyone is punch drunk and if they care they do not seem to show it. It is not until i get in the car and listen to canary call that things seem to liven up
Indy 3,471 Posted November 5, 2016 To be fair we did put in an effort, but it was two poor sides out on that pitch, so i believe it was a muted disapproval at the end.

They seldom pull out of it once the rot sets in.
Highland Canary 78 Posted November 5, 2016 It''s only permitted to clap performances such as that.
danielsroundabout 9 Posted November 5, 2016 Maybe the crowd was aware of Delia''s interview. Their heads were full of "giving the manager ten years to get it right." Plus the thought of "family succession" with the accompanying assurance of little worthwhile investment ahead.
hogesar 10,765 Posted November 5, 2016 I didn''t boo. I think it was all part to do with the shock - the shock at how predictable it was.Especially since Lafferty scored and seemed to get the crowd back on side - didn''t give much time for the crowd to turn. When we equalised I genuinely turned to my mate and said watch us throw this away. It had that feel about it because we didn''t defend with any confidence for the entire match and Leeds had a bit more energy in the dying minutes than we seemed to. Which being the home team chasing a win is concerning, of course.
morty 0 Posted November 5, 2016 As I said in my booing thread the opinion on here isn''t entirely representative of the wider fanbase. Sorry if some of you are disappointed it didn''t turn into the boo fest you wanted.
Hairy Canary 754 Posted November 5, 2016 I never boo but I certainly think AN should be gone. You can''t assume that only the booers are unhappy.
morty 0 Posted November 5, 2016 Of course more one is happy when we lose, what a ridiculous notion. That said I know of some who revel in it....
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted November 5, 2016 I''m assuming that all you guys were at the match today. So I don''t get why you were so surprised at your own response. I expected there to be more discontent from you. We were second best all game. Even when we were winning it was hardly deserved. And then after getting a lifeline with Lafferty''s goal we still messed it up two minutes later. I''m a happy clapper. Taking defeats on the chin is what I do. Most of you criticise me on here but yet when push came to shove.....
Hairy Canary 754 Posted November 5, 2016 I meant, which I''m sure you knew, was that plenty of fans are unhappy with AN and want him gone, but, like me, didn''t boo.
93vintage 16 Posted November 5, 2016 It looks like the fans are going through the different phases of turning. The ''stunned'' descriptions certainly doesn''t auger well because if we continue to underperform then it will surely turn to anger. It''ll be interesting to see what happens if Neil does go, because I''ve a feeling that the club will go for someone totally at odds with the style aims and traditions of the club. morty 0 Posted November 5, 2016 Did you ask them all hairy? Maybe they are just unhappy we are losing.According to the pinkun poll the majority don''t want him gone yet.
Mr Jenkins 0 Posted November 5, 2016 We were all gutted at the outcome today, most fans I think recognised however that what happened at the end of the game could hardly be laid at the managers door, to do that would be ignoring the fact that the entire team switched off and let themselves down badly.
Hairy Canary 754 Posted November 5, 2016 I didn''t say all, I, didn''t say the majority, I said plenty. Which is pretty much what the pinkun poll suggested. The point is that discontent in AN''s continued tenure is not limited to those who boo.

How ever did Leeds land Monk???I''m peed off by today for sure. But sacking Neil could end our promotion push which is very much alive. I dont see a team not playing for the manager, I see a team desperate for a shake up. We have the depth and quality to still compete for promotion.
city4eva 242 Posted November 5, 2016 I agree with the OP ,it was if no one really cared which is possibly worse than booing
Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,223 Posted November 5, 2016 I did not boo but I want him gone, it is representative of at least 8 people who sit near me, so I think what Hairy is saying is probably not far off the mark.....

We are conceding goals in the championship at the rate we were conceding in the PL. I have no idea what you are seeing that suggests promotion
yorkie 0 Posted November 5, 2016 Like most around me today we almost expected Leeds winner. I think we are punch drunk from the inept displays, poor substitutions, lack of passion, being out thought on and off the pitch and now the Times Article..I have tried to come away with positives and they are Thompson and Lafferty. I guess I will keep my season ticket but this is a low point. Leeds a feeder club. Not any more. Oh for a board with bottle .
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted November 5, 2016 I admire your confidence canaryfan but today''s result had an inevitability about it even at 1-0 and 2-2. Maybe it was because I was sitting there like a drowned rat but for me we didn''t look like winning even when we were. We are missing players who can get forward quickly it''s true. But we are ponderous at times and the ball resembles a hot potato at others.Still. Having sat through that and got drenched and shivering with cold my grandson turned to me and said "I''m glad I came with you today Grandad"! So I can''t get too upset can I? So best I climb back on the happy bus with you. There''s a long way to go after all.
hogesar 10,765 Posted November 5, 2016 There were boos from all 4 stands to be fair but I don''t think fans have reached that anger stage yet. Poor result either way.

I''m just surprised that some people are surprised.Nothing personal but AN is no more immune to it than all those who went before.managers have limited lifetimes, get used to it. Thecanaryfan 0 Posted November 5, 2016 I just remember the dark days of Grant/Roeder/Gunn Nutty. Truly miserable and I dont want to go back there. At the moment we are not even close to that. People have short memories of what Neil did for this club. Yes he is no PL manager and I''m sure even Delia knows that now. But will he respond to this lackluster form? Yes he will.
