Review of Fans Social Club Legends Evening - Wed Nov 2nd

Recommended Posts

There were plenty of stories from three former favourites at Carrow Road last week. Who knew that Terry Allcock captained Yorkshire at football, rugby and cricket in his youth? He also played in a competitive game for 75 minutes with a broken leg and was the first winner of the Barry Butler trophy, otherwise known as the Player of the Season Award, voted for by the fans.

Famous 59er Terry was joined by fellow POTS winners Darren Huckerby and Adam Drury at the Top of the Terrace, to recount tall tales from their collective 1000 Canary appearances. Hucks and Adam close friends since they played together, traded stick about Huckerby’s inability to either give or take a tackle, Drury’s bandy legs and the game in which the defender lost two front teeth and still played on.

Questions from the fans’ Q&A session, chaired by Dan Wynne of the Community Sports Foundation, covered advice for young footballers, favourite players, what happened in THAT Fulham defeat and Major League Soccer.

A raffle and signed shirt auction completed another successful evening organised by the Norwich City Fans Social Club, raising nearly £300 for the Community Sports Foundation.

Many thanks to all those who donated the raffle prizes, which were:

A round of golf for two worth £60, donated by Bawburgh Golf Club
