Big Vince

Battle Lines Drawn

Recommended Posts

Big Vince is awfully grateful to Delia for clarifying her position in The Times interview because it now validates everything that Big Vince has suspected about her for years and years. In particular:

1. Delia has never wanted to sell the club.

2. Delia does not like the Premier League and so that explains the long period of mediocrity prior to McNasty.

3. Delia has a problem with too much money in the game, but as a champagne socialist, it is okay for her to have money.

4. The Turners, Bowkett and McNasty all left the club because of her less than ambitious vision.

5. Bowkett''s epic voyage around the world to find investment in the club was an exercise in subterfuge to conceal her real intentions.

6. Ditto the appointment of agents for the same purpose.

7. Delia wants to turn Norwich City into a football backwater, but at least it will be on the moral high ground by not selling itself out to big business.

8. Delia is uniquely unadapted to ownership of a professional football club, both philosophically and temperamentally.

9. Delia would like to play village teams in Somerset on a regular basis.

10. Delia does not really like the fans, but she fooled them into thinking she does by using New Labour spin tactics for 20 years.

11. The owners of Leicester City, Stoke City, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United, Bournemouth and Watford are really bad people to have inflicted such misery on their supporters.

And so the battle lines have been drawn. It''s Delia vs The Fans. And we all know what happened to the previous incumbent when such a script is conjured up.........
I think it''s time Delia moves on.

However, that doesn''t stop me thinking that is the biggest load of garbage I have ever read...
Don''t take him seriously, he is a self-aware troll... and one of the best ones on here to boot [:)]

And of course there is another supreme irony here. Although Delia hates the Premier League and all the money within it, it has served a very useful purpose in clearing all the club''s debts, including those due to her.
Apropos of nothing, what is that thing in your avatar "Big" Vince? Some sort of lesbian sex aid?
It is a firedog made by Martin Brothers. They are very rare and usually come in pairs and are typically found in inglenook fireplaces.

Her debts were more than double those left by Chase.

£16 million vs £7 million.

I do recall he was hounded out by the fans who for some reason showed no gratitude for the most successful period in the club''s history.

Which part of Chase resigning because Barclays Bank were about to call in his short term unsecured loans that he could not service are you finding difficult to understand Vince ? Having a fire sale of Ward and Newsome was not enough to satisfy them.

The only reason Chase resigned was because it was Watling himself who offered to buy him out. Even Chase could not deny Watling''s credentials, but until that point had been reached he was implacable in refusing to go. Much like Delia today, he thought there was no one out there with the best interests of the club at heart.

I wonder how many people know that Watling''s first choice was Jimmy Jones, but he declined the offer so we got Delia instead.

The pro-Chase line used to be that it was all a conspiracy between Watling and the "devious duo" and Watling never owned those shares in the first place. This was done, apparently, without Geoffrey Watling knowing about it..........
