Give him a go but its not going to change the sloppy defending.For me Lafferty has always tried but the quality simply hasnt been there and we have better options. He has never matched his Ireland record for us or looked better than Grabban, Hooper, Mbokani or Jerome. Yes he scored again for N Ireland, but its a bit like England; unbeaten in 33 qualifiers yet when they face the bigger boys with more talent its game over. AJ 1,218 Posted November 12, 2016 Spot on ZLF, our goal scoring stats are actually pretty good - we''ve scored 28 so far in 16 games which means only Newcastle have scored more goals than we have in the league. Lafferty isn''t a better option than Jerome, that''s just plain facts and stats.What let''s us down is our horrendous goals conceded column which stands at 27 - even taking away that terrible Brighton performance that''s crazy bad for a team that is still insisting it''s good enough for automatic promotion! We''ve conceded 9 more goals than any other side in the top 8 in the league. Only 2 sides have conceded more than us, Forest in 20th with 30, and bottom side Rotherham with 38.If it wasn''t for our goal scoring we''d be way down the league.As it stands Newcastle and Brighton are looking pretty solid for the top two places.
