Alex Neil's treatment of Kyle Lafferty

Recommended Posts

His "multi-club career" holding a clue Crimson?

He played 83 games for Burnley before Rangers decided to splash £3.5 million on him. He went on to play 104 games before deciding to end his own contract at the same time as Whittaker, Naismith and many others.

He then spent fairly unsuccessful a year at FC Sion before signing for Palermo where he scored 11 goals in 34 appearances.

We then signed him for a substantial fee.

At 29 years old he''s had 5 permanent clubs including us.

Grant Holt was more of a journeyman than Lafferty.

Fact is he''s a goalscorer. Truth is we have very few of them at the club. Astonished when you are chasing a game he still chooses not to put the guy on.

What make me so angry about AN is that, if he''s never going to play him, and he never does, wtf not sever his contract and let little ole norwich save the wage fee!

Lafferty can score goals...We need a goalscorer! Lafferty scores goals at international level...and we need a goalscorer!

Nothing more to say!

"Among his misdemeanours was the cringeworthy episode when he feigned

injury, pretending Charlie Mulgrew had butted him to get the defender

red carded during a clash with Aberdeen.

A similar over-reaction

led to Celtic skipper Scott Brown getting his marching orders during a

fiery Old Firm clash at Ibrox while the Ulsterman sparked fury in the

aftermath of another 3-1 derby victory when he tweeted then Hoops boss

Neil Lennon, gloating: “Lennon, Lennon What’s the Score? Haha.”

Parking

his Bentley in a disabled space during a trip to Asda did the striker

little favours while a bitter bust-up with manager Ally McCoist led to a

suspension and ultimately ended his Rangers career.

Controversy

has continued to dog Lafferty since leaving Ibrox, with Palermo

president Maurizio Zamparini accusing him of being “an out-of-control

womaniser” after selling him to Norwich last summer."

Who cares if he scores goals, I know I don''t,

give him a chance, god knows he hasn''t had a go as a striker

Jaz, these events occurred before we signed him and as such we mist have been aware of his reputation, Palermo boss''s reaction not withstanding. If that was a problem for us why sign him. Apparently when he got married his attitude/demeanour changed. Give him a chance I say but there are greater problems at the back which are not being addressed!

Thought today was perfectly set up for Lafferty, should have played 2 up front in second half, and by passed the midfield more, Laffs would have run his socks off and who knows ? (and I''m not a fan of Lafferty) but thought today was crying our for him.

The lad scores. Other posters say we can''t play 4-4-2 because the absence of Howson. Well surely 4 2 3 1 isn''t working so why not give it a go regardless of Howson being fit. We''re still top 6 but slipping badly. The time to try these things is now. Lafferty and Jerome up top banging long balls into them is surely a better option than this narrow attacking front we''re failing with now. But I don''t see any change/progression in tactics unless we change manager who is not learning lessons and hasn''t since relegation from the Prem.
If today''s goalscorer is left out of the Derby game, will there be a similar thread next week?
Well Keith, will there? No, didn''t think so.

Makes me laugh this forum, Lafferty''s some cult figure and can do no wrong yet Naismith does his bit today but not even a mention 👎

Neil is in no position to play Lafferty. Today he tried to make a statement with a much changed squad and look how that worked. Lafferty is not going to bag loads of goals. Best chance would be to stick with Jerome who has a proven goal scoring record in the Champ.
