Leeds v Newcastle

Recommended Posts

This match is now under way and I think what ever the outcome, it won''t be good for us:

A Leeds win or draw and they will go above us and knock us out of the top 6, a Newcastle win and they will sail off into the distance a clear 13 points ahead of us.

Don''t know what to hope for.

If Leeds win or its a draw, at least the ''but we are still in the playoffs'' arguments is out of the window

Crazy to think we were 90 seconds away from being 7 points clear of Newcastle just 8 games ago...

Newcastle one up. The much maligned (on here) Gayle scores again. He''ll be the Champs'' top scorer this season.

Gayle. Would have given us the perfect option last season & is scoring for fun in this league (although when we were in for him wasn''t it 6mil, Newcastle paid 10 mil?)

Of course, it always helps when the goalkeeper gives you the ball a yard out to score...

I think we can already forget about catching Newcastle this season, looks like they will run away with it.

Is there still a chance that if we sort ourselves out we could get the second auto promotion place?

Newcastle away two seasons on the spin looks like it may define our immediate future.

It is funny how we were so close to beating them, but an experienced manager with tactical awareness made changes and pulled out a victory, something AN lacks, when was the last win from a losing position?

They are a different class to NCFC. Shows exactly the lack of ambition shown by our club hierarchy and the manager when Gayle was available to us earlier in the season!

They have shed loads of money and Benitez as manager, more of an attractive proposition than us, alas.

Probably the only difficult thing to take from watching this so far is despite Newcastle having a very, very talented squad they seem to be working harder and for each other more so than our players have done in recent games.

Although saying that it''s not realistic that we would have a manager like Benitez at our club!

Yep. Although we did have the option to make the same decisions they did - they sold players like Sissoko and Wijnaldum to fund refreshing the team.

We had the opportunity to do similar with the likes of Brady and Klose. We chose not to which at the time most fans agreed with but fans agreeing or not is irrelevant to if it was the right decision or not.

We started the season with essentially a Premier League squad perfectly capable of getting 2nd place. It will take some massive changes to get anywhere near that.

We put a £20m price tag on Brady which it seems was too much for teams to pay for him.

Do you know, for sure, that Gayle wanted to come to Norwich?

Does it matter - he didn''t and he obviously made the right choice to seek first team football elsewhere.

Didn''t we. How do you know that?

And they did.....

Can''t argue with that at all, yep, we should have done, and now it''s biting us on the a**e, but why oh why doesn''t he give our home grown youngsters and the likes of Canos, Thompson who we bought for the future a chance instead of the ever present misfits.

It''s not all about spending billions.
