Derby on a resurgence, confident and doing well, so a defeat wwould be no surprise.  However, if we manage to find a bit of form and put up a good show and get a fighting draw or even a win, then that would put some balance back into the overall situation.

Getting down on the situation is much easier than getting behind the situation.   Be positive ffs and create a better atmosphere around the place.  The constant negativity on here is ridiculous.

LDC wake up for fu(k sake.
Looks like Neil is the new Hughton  for LDC
Yes. You''re right. I don''t believe in quick fixes. You let those you believe in get on with it.  I believed in Hughton as a long term manager and still do - and I believe that AN will develop into a top manager.  Might as well be at Norwich than elsewhere - even if it takes a few years.  It would be worth the wait to have a bit of pain along the way if it means we come out stronger as a result. I''d stick with him, not least because the alternatives are not there, but most of all because I believe in him as a manager - a work in progress, maybe, but still a great prospect.  Give him the time he needs, even if it is two or three years.  He''s proved he can turn a bad situation into a good one before - and that he can motivate a team to a Wembley victory and the richest prize there is - promotion to the premier league.  That happened for a reason.

1 simple question.

Tell me what you have seen in the last 18months to suggest that what you are suggesting, that he is a great prospect that will develop into a top manager, will actually happen?

Actually, everything you said in your last post could sum up McCarthy at Ipswich.

But hes done it before...

He needs a few years...

They are still waiting for the day that will never come.

Also might as well be at Norwich?

So in a few years, when we have sold our better players, the big clubs are sniffing around our better younger players which we have to sell to even consider buying other players, we are stuck in the Championship with only a faint hope of reaching the play offs each year, if that.

But hey, at least we still have Alex Neil (and probably still the same back 4, minus Klose)

How long to keep Neil to see IF he does develop into a great manager.

HoW long do we keep saying he''s inexperienced and that he''s learning. He isn''t learning.

Failure to get promoted this year or next and there will be a huge amount of changes at this club.

Really? Perhaps you can tell us where bears go to the toilet and the pope''s religion too?

He''s f**king s**te and always has been. Winged it all the way and spent loads of money on s**te.

Anyone who remotely thinks he''s gonna be any good needs to see a specialist.

He will go back to the Scottish championship where he belongs for the rest of his career

What you fail to understand LCD is that as a club we don''t have time to allow him to progress into the manager you think he will be. How long do you want to give him? This season? 2 years or even 3 years? As a club we realistically have to get back up next season at the latest. Once those parachute payments disappear we cease to be competitive financially at this level. At that point it''s pretty irrelevant how good he is as we will be well established as a mid table championship club for the foreseeable future

Alex Neil has not learned from his mistakes.

He has not addressed the recurring issue over the past two years.

Even this weekend, when asked about the defense, his reply was ''we don''t score enough goals''

You will never score enough goals if you ship two or three every game.

Brilliant.

I''ll be at Derby next week desperate for a win.

I think Alex Neil could well end up being a decent manager but I do wonder if he needs a fresh start with a squad that needs building from scratch a la Lambert.
