Shame Olive still (3 weeks on!) isn''t anywhere near being match fit.

Always love playing players against their old teams (well it works against us ol)

Professional footballer whereby their sole job is to play football. They get paid to play it and yet he obviously wasn''t focussed on staying fully fit this summer, irrespective if he was frozen out of first team plans back at Benfica. I find it very hard to justify how someone can be so badly fit and not get up to scratch within 3 weeks myself.

Hopefully he gets up to speed sooner rather than later as I''d expect he will make a big difference to our options and side adding a genuine 2nd striker option.

Howson & Dorrans , two essentially attack minded midfielders, make up the double pivot [:O] They really are going to have to stay deep [:|]

nice to see us playing with genuine wingers, thats the most balanced 11 weve started for about 50 games

bit kamikaze for an away game but should make things interesting

It appears that there is nobody there to carry out Tettey'' role of holding midfielder or is that why Thompson is on the bench to call on if they want to change and employ one.

Great to see Brady and Pinto back. Feels a bit more ''full strength'' - and hopefully that''ll mean we can actually see out 90 minutes. Disappointed to still not have seen any of Oliviera though, not even on the bench! Mulumbu dropped for Thompson too and rightfully so after his clanger against Wigan!

Either that or AN decided that playing two holding midfielders worked so well against Wigan in the second half...

erm....no it doesntthe formation doesnt determine if the wingers are inverted you could play 442, 433, 352 and still invert your wide players, which generally involves playing a right footed player left and a left footed player rightwe are playing brady left murphy right, thats not inverted, brady is a left winger......

invert1

Sounds as if we''re mixing it about a bit, Brady likes to come in but Jacob really enjoys take by the ball wide

[/quote]No, they''re not traditional wingers as you suggest - within the 4-2-3-1 the wide midfielders are responsible for playing both offensively and defensively -- The one true offensive only player is the lone striker at the top who interacts closely with the center-midfielder.
