OT - Big Sam

Recommended Posts

Just from another soon to be extinct era; was rosie the dog not enough of a sacrifice?

Has wealth and leisure time but still needing more; the sooner this type of corruption is removed the better.

Disappointing, greedy but shouldn''t be sacked. He hasn''t actually broken any rules just talked about how it''s done.

He was set up and asked questions which he answered.

No different to putting up a link for a stream on here or giving advice on sports devil/ KODI and doing SKY/ BT out of revenue.

and we are all quite happy to do that.

And this is why Redknapp was never going to be allowed near the England job.

Just look at all the ridiculous players Big Sam managed to sign for Bolton in his time there. Clearly knows how to seal a deal!

If you were an employee of SKY or BT and you were claiming you could help break their rules, in return for payment - then you might find yourself getting the sack. He was after all touting for work from these ''investors''.

Without seeing the full transcript it is hard to judge in what context he said these things but he is on very thin ice. The only thing that might save his neck is there really isn''t anyone to replace him.

Sam? Greedy?

And you are surprised?

Is there anyone in football who is not greedy, making everybody else pay for their obscene salaries and lifestyles?

Key line in the articles that have been reported is that he said "I''ll have to clear it with the powers that be".   As for 3rd party ownership of players, when he signed someone who was owned by a third party, that arrangement ceased and the player was legitimately "whole" once the deal was done. So things were said that were a bit naughty. So what.  Talk about creating news from nothing. This kind of journalism stinks - gutter journalism at it''s worst.

Whilst Big Sam is obviously a massive f*cking idiot, I can''t help but feel that our national media has a real burning desire to try and screw over England as a football team at every possible opportunity.

Totally agree Hog, however if there is corruption in football, let''s get it out in the open. We all applauded when it was FIFA.

I see it''s being reported that the telegraph have played this setup on 10 other managers. Stand by for more revelations over the next couple of weeks.

They need to name those managers/assistants that accepted bungs ASAP as all are under suspicion until they do.
Typical responses on here . If someone''s caught working when claiming benefits or collecting their dead mothers pension what would be the verdict ?
Has Sam being doing either of those things?

Six English two foreign managers to be named according to Kaveh. Not Alex then not surprised after all very few signings.
Point is,like politicians football dealings can be very naughty . Would you buy a used car off uncle Harry ? Clough was on par but never any repercussions.
I would suggest whatever has happened can''t really be compared to stealing taxpayers money?
I agree , if proven it''s worse in some cases .
You have a very odd moral compass if you thing a bit of dodginess in sport is worse than stealing from the taxpayer...

My morals on the whole are above par . If it concerns money and your taking what you shouldn''t then someone loses out .

How many politicians or dodgy football managers/agents have enjoyed a few months break at one of her majesty''s fine establishments ?

If you think it is no different to " putting up a link for a stream on here or giving advice on sports devil/ KODI and doing SKY/ BT out of revenue " then you are seriously deluded.Allaydyce was involved in this sort of stuff along with his son some years back. He has a track record in this stuff. However what should now be asked is why the FA decided to ignore this when they previously took a firm line with Cloughie who supposedly liked a ''bung'' and dear old ''readies'' Redknapp ? We''ve seen what was going on at FIFA, and it is going on closer to home in the UK.Unfortunately it is a thread that no one within the game wants pulled - far too many on the gravy train.

And here is the nitty gritty -"“You get a percentage of the player’s agent’s fee that the agent pays to

you, the company, because he’s done that new deal at the club again or

they sell him on, and you’re not getting a part of the transfer fee any

more, because you can’t do that,” he is filmed explaining. “But, you get

– because of the size of the contracts now, the contract will be worth

£30m, £40m, at 10% and you’ve done a deal with the agent where you’re

getting 5% of the agent’s fee, which is massive for doing about two

hours’ work.”To cut it down the manager, or third party, is paid via the agent. The manager will be in a position to say that player x is worth £100,000 a week. The agent then gets 10% of that... part of which is then paid to third party or said manager. This is what dear old ''readies'' was accused of, and why he had so many dud players going through West Ham ..... and also, so many players. There are various methods of paying the manager. One is getting him to perform at a function as an after dinner speaker (where the fee is exessively high). It also goes to explain the transfer fees which the gormless quote as gospel. They are not. They are mostly a figure that all sides wish to have accorded to the transfer, and very often bear no relation to money exchanged or what it was for. There arebthe other aspects where players are selected for international duty based on their agents need to boost their earnings value.... which would be of benefit to anyone else involved in that players wages.Lastly is it not odd (or not) that it is the ame clubs and managers etc that come into the spotlight.... time after time ?  No smoke etc
