I actually miss Rob Butler

Recommended Posts

Did Phil Daley really just say he agreed with the text about us being ''bang average''.

There''s enough idiotic callers already ''what''s Moxey doing?'' ''We''re playing a predictable game'' etc.. Now the host is joining in. Thankfully the King of Spain is talking sense.

We weren''t bang average. The murphys won''t go for free and if we win 3-1 being predictable every week, I''ll take that.

KoS put the bang average point in its place! However, Canary Call is infinitely better without Rob Butler! He''s a twonk!

Pity he doesn''t stay out of country every week .If ever there was one man up his own backside that''s him.As I have said before there isn''t many at the forum(Radio Norfolk) who like him

Butler should have stayed in "on the buses"

Sadly he was born with two mouths and one ear. Which mean as a consequence he talks far too much, as he is so fond of his own voice. Only his opinion counts.

The art of any TV or Radio host is to listen carefully to what the guests have to say. SHould be force fed on watching Michael Parkinson for a complete month. Even then doubt he would listen!!

If you listen carefully to what the average canary caller has to say

A) you''ll have 1 caller, you can''t shut these people up

B) you''ll want to blow your brains out

We''re talking about canary call not ''inside the actors studio'' or Parkinson. They have guests where we actually have a specific reason to have tuned in.

The art of canary call (and 606) is to have a host or guest that is strong enough to deal with idiotic callers and have strong opinions to make some entertainment out of an otherwise boring and dreary call in.

Like him or not (and that is the point) Rob Butler, like Neeyyul before him, gets people talking, isn''t afraid to have an opinion (some ex players and ''analysts'' are far too scared to upset the callers) and livens up a bunch of pretty dull callers.

Adams was good as he actually had some experience to draw on- Butler is just a gobby fan who for some reason has been told his opinion matters. Can''t understand it.

Butler is a total embarrassment on Canary Call. With him handling the phone in the quality of discussion has fallen to new lows since Neil Adams time on the programme. He uses the programme as a vehicle for his own views and finds it impossible to cope with other points of view. He doesn''t add any insights or views beyond low level banter. Get rid and upgrade .

Get the King of Spain hosting it full time......he''s pure quality, has genuinely interesting views as an ex professional and doesn''t need the likes of no hopers like Butler alongside.
