After reading through loads of threads here's a question.
Nutty, Sorry I owe you a reply from another thread re "unanswered questions."

What I meant was questions such as this for which it is hard for us mere mortal fans to understand why (as it was put brilliantly in this thread) "the whole is less than the sum of it''s parts."

Perhaps we over analyse. Maybe It''s just football, this is normal in any club? Perhaps we shouldn''t expect any clear answers.

Meanwhile I''ll be at Brighton tomorrow and looking forward to a brilliant bounce-back!
I guess this is all about individual standards. Let''s be honest about it the last time a side was picked we had more than 2 points per game on the board. Now I know folk like to point to what is claimed to be an easy start. But even if that''s the case I doubt anybody either predicted or expected anything more than we got. I wouldn''t be surprised if the players haven''t already built up a siege mentality against the fans who are so easily dis-satisfied. I know I would. Wouldn''t you?
Last time we lost at Brighton I believe was in 1983. I was there that time and don''t think I''ve been since. So let''s keep that run going and have a great day buddy[Y]

Sorry you landed up fighting my corner for me nutty, but carry on, you are doing a grand job. I''d surmise Indy''s suggestion is right; that particular comment by Indy_Bones was referring to Pritchard/Brady. I don''t find it at all odd that AN should keep faith with Brady in his specialist left-side position; Pritchard I see as the chosen successor to Wes.

I did wonder about that Westy. But that''s just one player. And it has to be viewed in the context of Howson being unavailable. Midfield without either Howson or Brady would be well short on energy. So in reality it was Pritchard or Murphy and Jacob had done enough to warrant selection.
Which underperforming players are you talking about who have gone straight back in to replace players who performed well. And which are the players who performed well and then dropped.
The most obvious one is clearly Brady/Pritchard, and regardless of whether or not people see AP as a long term replacement for Wes, his performance alongside Wes was miles better than pretty much anything we''ve seen from Brady all season, and the reward - back on the bench.Canos came on for an underperforming Jo.Murphy, then had a great game against Cov (admittedly they were terrible), but then he gets subbed against Brum for Jo.M again, who yet again underperforms, but who is on the bench the week after? And what chances has Canos been given since???Olsson was out injured so Brady covered Left Back, did a better job than Olsson usually does, yet Olsson gets called straight back in even though Brady was doing well, and was actually better than Olsson has been so far IMHO.Martin has been poor for the past 5 games he''s played in, yet have we seen Bennett, Bassong or Turner brought in to replace him? Nope, his position is set regardless, and whether or not any of the other 3 would be any better (or in fact would be worse), we''ll never know because Martin''s virtually undroppable in AN''s eyes...

Don''t know how Olsson makes that list Indy. Been 8/10 every game in my opinion. Klose on the other hand has been poor. Far too slow, poor positionally and got rinsed by Clayton Donaldson for 90 mins.

8/10 every game - just WTF????Doesn''t tackle well enough, doesn''t have the positional defensive sense to intercept enough, is probably the least involved of all our defenders in terms of buildup play, for an attacking fullback his crossing is pretty ropey not to mention he rarely plays any sort of killer ball either.8/10 for that - you''re having a bubble Coops.Nice to see you slating our best defender by a mile in the process as well...
