CANARYKING 637 Posted October 30, 2016 Steady at this level, would him and Klose fit ? Can''t be any worse ,
Willmeister 35 Posted October 30, 2016 I''d rather give Godfrey a go. Big lad and about time we started giving youth a go.
FCC 76 Posted October 30, 2016 Worth a go - but Klose isn''t. Far to soft for the Champs - no stomach for a scrap and has to go off for treatment every time someone brushes past him, or out muscles him. No desire. Should have moved him on.
Yellowbeagle 0 Posted October 30, 2016 No. Past his best by some way and if he played alongside Klose we''d have to sit so deep we''d have to sit on the edge if our own penalty area.Klose is worth sticking with in as much as we know he can perform at a higher level. However a new centre back or maybe two should have been signed in the summer.
im spartacus canary 0 Posted October 30, 2016 Klose is being targeted by every championship Manager with a journeyman donkey at his disposal, which is most of them. He turned up yesterday looking like terry butcher but played like pat butcher.
king canary 7,603 Posted October 30, 2016 Turner is incredibly slow and I don''t image he''s got much quick over the last 18 months.
Yellow Wal 314 Posted October 30, 2016 Yes, Turner is slow. But he can defend and he can read a game which is something our big ''young'' hope Bennett cannot do.Turner also scored a couple of Premiership goals for us and not only knows how to score from set pieces but knows how to defend them. How many goals have we conceded from set pieces this season and how many goals have we scored from set pieces? Finally, it is very sad that I can actually think that he should be considered but that has more to do with the qualities of the present defenders than his qualities which are now declining all the time as he gets older. ZLF 274 Posted October 30, 2016 i thought it was key that hughton DIDNT target klose; he chose to take glenn murphy wide (irritating the unprofessional Olsson) or deep where our defence didnt follow and where he was able to dominate tettey and keep possession, something we couldnt do.When he pulled to olsson he dominated too easily and shifted our defence left, leaving martin easy prey for the impressive skalak.Klose is having problems, but despite that he remains head and shoulders better than in descending order Bassong, Martin, Bennett & Turner, including at yesterdays gameAs for Godfrey the leeds game confirms both that he has talent and will be a player for us but also that he is nowhere near ready for the championship yet.Yes we have issues, but throwing the water out with the bath water is just ludicrous. GJP 79 Posted October 30, 2016 Bassong?Made the difference last time we got promoted.
Syteanric 1 Posted October 31, 2016 And also the difference last time we got relegated....I''d sooner have no centre back than have Bassong back in.
AJ 1,218 Posted October 31, 2016 Turner is 32, and could probably still do a job at this level. But is he genuinely better than 2 of Martin/Klose/Bennett/Bassong? I''m not sure he''ll ever be more than back-up for us now.
