Do NCFC have Sunday off

Recommended Posts

We have 3 days until end of xfer window, 59 days into window and have still failed to secure a striker, so wonering if NCFC have Sunday off.

Other clubs are beavering away and announcing signings today. Why hasn''t Oliveira got over the finishing line, what''s holding it up, or do we have the day off and resume tomorrow. Would show clubs naivety all over again if they do!

Also do we a specialised recruitment team plus negotiator team/individual at the club. All our transfers are very protracted compared to other teams (e.g. Brady, Oliviera this seasons) so is this another area the club need to strengthen in?

Don''t forget that it''s a bank holiday weekend too so expect Oliveira to be announced on Tuesday!

Any other signings will be late on Wednesday dependent on other clubs getting the deals done that they want and leaving them with a surplus player.

Thats my point. It''s Sunday and tomorrow a Bank Holiday. NCFC should be working overtime, today and tomorrow to secure whatever targets this club has failed to secure in the last 60 days of the window!!

How do you know they''re not? Just because they''re not blathering all over social media doesn''t mean they''re not working behind the scenes, on their phones etc.

I think that''s a fair question - We do seem to take longer than other clubs to get deals tied up and I can''t see why that is. If Oliveira passed a medical on Friday, why is it another 3 days before he signs on the dotted line?! Look at other clubs and this just doesn''t happen usually - more often than not players do the medical and then sign the same day. Why can''t Norwich manage that?

It has occurred to me that the very fact that we have one established striker may be the reason we are struggling to add to that at present.

You have to convince the player coming in of his game time against a player in Jerome that would get into most EFL starting XI''s. You would then also have to keep Jerome happy being potentially replaced when he''s worked hard to be our starting forward.

You also have to convince the accounts that spending however many millions on two more strikers, with only one starting each week and one probably not even in the squad, is a good idea.

The last time we did that we made a net loss of about £11 million.

We seemed to sign Pritchard super swiftly.

I''ve no doubt that the Oliveira deal is 95% done and with no game for a while,or risk of losing the signature to someone else, the club are in no urgent rush to get everything done just to satisfy us impatient fans!

I can see Ipswich signing a striker before we do! We have needed one all summer and they have only just lost Murphy. If Alex Neil had 5-6 targets at the start of the transfer window surly given the money we have we should have done something about it already! I also don''t see why RVW left without us having a replacement in place.

Nottingham Forest liked Oliviera; he had a good partnership with Assombalonga. Will NCFC try to sign both - or with £13m in their pockets will Forest make a late bid for Oliviera? A risk of hijacking may exist there...

Why are you sure that other teams are beavering away, how many signings were announced yesterday?

This is nothing short of unbelievable, you''re almost suggesting that you''ve got it in your head that we''ve shut up shop for 48 hours - and you actually believe it. Insane.

For the record, Samwam - and this is just an EXAMPLE, if Sunday was our ''transfer teams'' day off or whatever (but it won''t work like that) then you can bet your life they will have been working away, and for what? A thankless task, and I trust you give up your days off just to please your spoilt brat punters - of course not.
