cornish sam 948 Posted August 30, 2016 Also worth noting, of the u23 teams only ours, reading''s and everton''s won tonight (so far, Leicester and soton are still going at 0-0, presumably in extra time). West Ham even lost 4-2 at Coventry!
Yelloow Since 72 54 Posted August 30, 2016 It was Godfrey who conceded the penalty by ''leaning on his man'' according to Chris Goreham. Morris played well as a facilitator for the goal scorers, much in the way AN wants our strikers to play. Great night for all the youffs!
Alex Moss 2,165 Posted August 30, 2016 I must say, I''m finding it very hard to get into the traditional doom and gloom of the last 24 hours of the transfer window for Norwich City when the cheeky little blighters only go and play a blinder, its not on really is it
Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,020 Posted August 30, 2016 Listenting to the pre match build up on Radio Norfolk, Jamie Cureton said he thought the EFL Trophy is a good format and that he thought games would be close with no sides getting a hiding!!....... ? 0 Posted August 30, 2016 Cornish Sam, just to let you know the format. No extra time, if its a draw after 90mins both teams get 1 point. It then goes to a penalty shoot out with the winner gaining another point.
Copeman Canary 0 Posted August 30, 2016 What are you doing here, Feedthewolf? Disrespecting the local accent from your own county? Is it merely self-hate, or are you implying that people who speak with a Norfolk accent are somehow ignorant? Interesting prejudice for a Norwich supporter if the latter. CJ 0 Posted August 30, 2016 However you look at it a very very impressive result tonight which proves given right team we can play and score freely.Yes it was against Posh but it was away .Well played lads hopefully will see more getting a chance to play in senior team and wake up some of our more experienced players

SwindonCanary 455 Posted August 30, 2016 Outside of Norfolk, in the big footballing world, the general opinion is that having Andreu in the team was not in the spirit of the competition ! Generally it''s agreed to introduce the U23''s to help young England players to come through, because of this Andreu is getting a lot of stick.
Year of the tiger 54 Posted August 31, 2016 Charlie Adam was in Stoke''s team but as he didn''t score no one comments on that.
AJ 1,218 Posted August 31, 2016 It was within the rules to field Andreu and he went out there and did his job. If they''re moaning about him they''ve obviously missed the fact a large chunk of the side were also young English footballers!
Tetteys Jig 830 Posted August 31, 2016 Not to mention the benefits the young lads will have had of having the experience of playing with a seasoned pro in the middle of the park.Any highlights?
City 2nd 191 Posted August 31, 2016 It was the younger generation who destroyed Coventry in the EFL Cup, and now they do it again! Come in AN, these are the future, use them to replace the misfiring residents you keep picking!
Alex Moss 2,165 Posted August 31, 2016 Ahh you''ll never win anything with kids, City2nd 😉 Which reminds me, where''s City1st?
Horse Renoir 1 Posted August 31, 2016 Everyone knows it was a mistake to play Naismith up front last weekend, we''re all in agreement there. But maybe the mistake was actually not playing Morris instead of Lafferty? If Jerome and Oliviera get injured, god forbid, then I want to see Morris given a chance next time. Even if he hadn''t already played a season of senior football he still couldn''t be any worse than Naismith trying to play a false 9 in this league! I''d also certainly rather keep him as third choice than waste time and money helping another club by loaning someone like Akpom
It's Character Forming 1,160 Posted August 31, 2016 Great result. If people are complaining about Andreu playing that''s pretty desperate, given he''s not exactly close to starting in the first team.
king canary 7,580 Posted August 31, 2016 Good result.Shame the competition is an absolute farce but there you go.
