Straw Poll- Who would like Delia and MWJ to sell the club?

Recommended Posts

Reading through this board since Moxey''s interview and bearing in mind that a recent poll by the EDP found that the majority of supporters were not happy with the BoD, do you want Delia and MWJ to put the club up for sale? Yes or No? For me yes!

And would you have any worries at all that you could just sell the business to asset strippers? [:-*]

Sadly, yes ...

It''s the way English football is going now. Even the Championship is being bought up by billionaires looking for a new toy. Without owners who can buy players from their own deep pockets we will drift back to Championship mediocrity at some point soon.

Move with the times or fade ...

Badger, the question was what you want, I take it that''s a no then. I would think as with most business transactions due diligences will have been carried out and the interested party would also have to pass the fit and proper test.

Fair point Nutty and agree, perhaps we could get investment with the Smiths retaining a place on the board like Swansea and Palace.

Tilly, what happens if the masses turn against them like Bob the Builder, can you see Nephew Tom taking charge?

The mass will have to come on down off social media. Relegation to league one and a meeting at St Andrews Hall couldn''t do it. So an disatisfaction of the transfer window is unlikely to. But you never know...

Now Tillys past it who will be the leader?

Rob Butler! He can lead the masses and then he''ll get fired from Snorfolk so we won''t have to listen to him anymore! Win-Win!

I agree, that''s the way I see this playing out Tilly. Perhaps Tom will sell the club though?

Eddie''s thoughts are what my answer would be too though :-

''Sell to just anybody - No

Sell to someone who will carry on with the community values but also add to the pot - Yes.''

👍

I agree with Nutty on this but unfortunately Tilly is right. So as I posted on at her thread we will only see investment if Tim the Neph decides to cash in and was his hands of the club - note the Pontius the pilot connection for Lappinitup''s benefit.

I liked Tom''s interview when he talked about carrying on with the values of D&M.In fact I was heartened by it.
Anybody who thinks disappointment in the transfer window is comparable to what happened under Chase must have serious issues of their own to cope with.

Everything and everybody has a shelf life.......I think the club should be sold......It requires a fresh impetus and with the right person/people.......Who knows what success we can achieve.......and so.......:-)

Right Tom, we''ll sell you the club for a pound.......Don''t waste the assets on computer games, pop, sherbet and haribo......Make sure the catering is well catered for and keep the grass cut. Only put the floodlights on when you can''t see the stand opposite. As regards to those chaps in and outside the dugout and those that run about on that green stuff?.....Just don''t let them have there own way.....OK? The same applies to those 26,000 whingers that want the moon on a stick......On occasion, pacify them, but just give them a stick........Give us a quid, keep wearing a suit it makes you look important and get rid of that foppish hairstyle......Right me and Michael are off to retire but will keep an eye on you. Have fun, don''t do anything rash or silly and enjoy.........

Sadly Nigel, I think you can have one or the other but not both. Anybody who puts in enough money to make a difference will have the right to do as they think fit. Tradition and community values may be part of the package but ultimately we are in the hands of the owner and whatever his/her wishes are.Football ownership is now capitalism in the raw and the old socialistic model cannot compete.

Agree with Nutty.

No for me unless it goes to someone who understands the traditions and community values. Presumably Delia & MWJ see that person as Tom

Yes. The club will get left behind by rival championship clubs let alone compete with lower end premier league clubs (a point Gorehan raised with Moxey brilliantly I thought)

Nutty is spot on, unfortunately the chances of a new owner(s) and retaining the same values is most unlikely, will be a sad day. But unfortunately club requires investment if to move forward with anything sustainable.

The club is bigger than Delia and we have to be able to compete financially if we want to succeed, which is the point of the club existing. She can no longer provide the investment required and must be convinced to sell so we can become an established PL club.

Yes very much so , she has had enough chances at the top flight and unlike others we just drop back down again . If we do not gain promotion this year or next we will be in this league for many years to come , all the good work has been thrown away once to often .

I guess with Delia & Michael both being 75 there might come a day when they may hand over the reigns to have a rest from board matters, so they can just enjoy the games

Haven''t met their nephew Tom and don''t know anything about him so can''t comment on him but would be open to a foreign rich owner if it was one like the Leic owner who''s a billionnaire but is strong on the community feel and who the fans seem to love.

In the past 12 months he''s donated £37,500 to five local Leicester charities.

Also reported in the local newspaper that he''s given a further £2m to kick start a £10m appeal to build a new Children''s Hospital in the City.

Didn''t he also subsidise away travel quite a few times last season to help their fans, then he bought all his players a new car when they got promoted.

But I appreciate a lot of foreign owners haven''t been good for clubs so you''d have to be very choosy.

Guess the ideal situation would be for some to take over who''s local, is a ncfc fan and is rich so lets hope one of us wins the lottery tonight lol
