Tree?

Clue in the name … Nottingham FOREST

Nottingham Forest will always be famous:

League Division One winners

FA Cup winners twice

League Cup winners four times

European Cup winners twice

UEFA Super Cup winners

Only a biased short sighted idiot would seriously say that Norwich City are more famous than Nottingham Forest.

Club founded in 1865.

Ground capacity potentially 30,445 (although recently reduced to zero on safety grounds) now at 24,357.

Since 2012 owned by Fawaz Mubarak Al-Hasawi, a Kuwaiti businessman (who takes an active role as chairman) who has an estimated net worth £1.4 billion.

Nottingham estimated population 320,000 and 750,000 in the wider area with an excellent transport system.

First class cricket county and Test Match ground.

Instead of directing ire at Nottingham Forest perhaps you should focus on the reasons why Norwich find it difficult to attract good players.

In any case not sure that Bendtner is such a great signing anyway.

Are Forest the only club to win the European Cup and subsequently be relegated to the third tier of their domestic league?

I should say that their achievement in getting promoted, then winning the First Division the next season , then winning the European cup and retaining the European Cup in the next two seasons,is the greatest sustained achievement by an English club side, ever. Other club sides like Liverpool and Man U have been dominant forces for spells, but had much much greater resources. The main credit for this goes to the Clough/Taylor management team.

Interestingly, Curious hasn''t posted recently because we''ve been winning. In fact, his most recent posts were in his thread highlighting how we wouldn''t get promoted this season.
Just pointing it out, in case anybody missed.

All sounds way too familiar.I''ve got a Forest supporting friend who is still fervently convinced that they are a ''big'' club, and still rants and dribbles on about Cloughie this and that.I then calmly point out that that been utterly $hit for ages, haven''t been in the top flight for nearly 20 years (18, but who''s counting), and regardless of having a billionaire owner, they still can''t get their way out of the champs - which is why I personally consider Norwich to be the far ''bigger'' side in recent years, and whilst I can''t knock their history, that history means jack these days, much like Wolves fans who long for the return of the 1950''s, Leeds fans who still think they are the best club in Europe and that''s not even including sides like Preston or Ip$hit either...

@Indy

The two clubs whose fans are worst for banging on about how massive they are despite being turd for years in my experience are Villa and Wolves. Something about the midlands clearly...
