Underlying Problems Not Addressed

Vinny old boy. Your mask is slipping badly...

Geoffrey Watling and Martin Armstrong brought Walker back. The cook and her cohorts didn''t take the reigns until 1998 and appointed Rioch to bring the club into the 21st century with sports science....
Nonsense. The Stowmarket Two joined the Board in 1996.
They were invited by Watling to join the board in November 96.They didn''t buy his shares (and therefore didn''t own the club) until December 1997.Walker rejoined NCFC in June 1996 So, the boy Vinnie, the only one spouting nonsense is you (again).Certainly no point in asking you how much Watling walleted. Sorry Vinny, you''ve been rumbled. The only nonsense is that which you are spouting. Martin Armstrong and Geoffrey Watling appointed Mike Walker. At the same time Martin Armstrong invited Delia and Wynnie on to the board. Martin Armstrong would have become Chairman but the N&P wouldn''t sanction it so Barry Lockwood was persuaded to carry on. However at the time Armstrong made a very powerful speech in which he said that Gary Megson wasn''t popular, as reflected in season ticket sales, and the board should consider the return of Mike Walker. Geoffrey Watling held on to Chase''s former shareholding until December 1997 when he was happy to sell to Delia and Wynnie. They had control from then and appointed Bruce Rioch in the close season to bring the club into the 21st century with sports science.
Do you not realize that we have one of the best squads in the Championship ?
The OP has been proved correct, again.

Pinto and Martin can''t defend.

What was Pinto doing tracking the player all the way back then falling over and letting him get the cross in that led to the goal? A proper right back would have got a tackle in. We now have 3 right backs at the club, none of whom can defend.

Each member of the Board needs to write out the title of the OP one thousand times.

The last time we had decent right back was when John Bond bought Mark Edworthy in our first ever season in the top flight (1967-68) me and Big Vince used to go to the games on the tram from Wroxham Rd. and stop off at Castle Meadow for a slice of piza at Grimaldi''s before leap frogging it down Silver St. to the Nat West Stand.

As you have conceded your initial post was ''an error'', therefore you did not recognised it until it was pointed out to you, you can hardly come back and claim it to be ''planted''. "For the first time I''m looking at Ipswich and Norwich and not looking at two medium sized clubs, one of whomhappens to be doing well, and one of whom happens to be doing badly. I now see one club who has had the greatgood fortune to be bankrolled by a very rich man who have clearly got excellent people at the top, and one whoappear to be being run by well-meaning amateurs" May 1009

Doing well ? By that I suppose he means appointing Roy Keane, and we all know what happened there.Bankrolled ? Or asset stripped as it is known. Both the club and the training ground have been discretely moved to Evans owned off shore companies. Players have been sold with the money disappearing into Evans back pocket, whilst the debt has risen to eye watering levels. So what of the well meaning amateurs ? Three promotions, four years in the top flight, a league title and an FA Youth Cup. Cleared their debt, invested in a state of the art training facility and a ground full for almost every game.

No wonder we don''t see any of these dimwits round here waving money (pitchforks would be more apt).

If you are claiming one of these clubs is better than the other, I fail to see the logic as neither is in the EPL. So by that yardstick they have both failed, but in different ways. Take tonight for instance, Norwich City are certain to exit the cup because they never take it seriously and Neil has already stated before the game they would like to get out (in effect) as the league is the priority.

It''s really easy Vince, we''re a City, they are a Town. Cities are better that towns as towns try to become cities, cities don''t try and become towns.

Big vince needs to change his name to "big issue" after he promised to get rid of all his worldly possessions last night

He''ll be back when we lose a game, they always are. Won''t change the fact that Ipswich will soon go bankrupt and mercifully cease to exist.

The OP has been proved correct yet again.

The defending against Burton was shocking. As Greg Downs stated on CC the two centre backs were playing 20-25 yards apart when they should be playing as a pair no more than 10 yards apart. Shocking! Can only be put down to the return of the boy Martin who is now dragging Klose down to his level.

If Norwich City propose to return to the EPL with these defenders it will be an absolute joke. Might as well get relegated again now to get it over with...............

I''m beginning to think R Martin is Delia''s favourite and a clause has been inserted into his contract that he must play if he is fit.
The fact of the matter is the performance on Saturday was poor. Had Norwich played a better side, the opponent would have wrapped it all up by half-time.

The underlying problems with this team have not been addressed from the Board down.

Too many chances are not converted into goals because there is not enough quality up front. Same as last season.

The defenders make too many mistakes. Same as last 3 seasons at least.

Where is the proper scrutiny at this football club? What do these people on the Board actually do? No action is ever taken to address recurrent problems.

For instance, when did Norwich last sign a proper defensive right back? It must have been the boy Edworthy about a decade ago!

Board must go no question...........
Just thought this OP needed bumping up again as clearly the Board are still refusing to learn the lessons that need to be learned after last night''s capitulation.

Where are the Board members when these things happen? Who is the Board member responsible for oversight of the back four? Are questions ever asked? What do the individual Board members do apart from voting for themselves or their colleagues regardless? What relevant skills and experience do these people have? Why were the departures of the Turners, Bowkett and McNasty all met with a deafening silence from within the citadel?

The Board now need to listen to Big Vince and listen real good because:

RUSSELL MARTIN CANNOT DEFEND

SEB BASSONG CANNOT DEFEND

IVO PINTO CANNOT DEFEND

RYAN BENNETT CANNOT DEFEND

STEVEN WHITTAKER CANNOT DEFEND

MARTIN OLSSON CANNOT DEFEND

TIMM KLOSE IS LEARNING HOW NOT TO DEFEND

These problems have been ongoing for at least 3 years and nothing has been done about it.

WHY?

Do the Board run this club or not?

What are they doing?

What are they waiting for?

Why was there no back four clearout during the summer?

Why was £8 million squandered on another midfielder when it could have bought 2 half decent Championship defenders?

I am waiting for the Board to come out from its bunker and front up for a change.......................
