Pathetic UEFA statement just released

Recommended Posts

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36528403
What''s the point? "Suspended disqualification?" How is that different to what they said before, if there''s any more problems with Russia / England they''ll be kicked out of the tournament?
It''s been pretty much proven these are organised, planned, military-esque attacks. Yes, there''s some right c*cks of England Fans, but this is on another level and is serious.
How many last chances do Russia get? Homophobia, open racism, and now organised attacks with lethal weapons.
And yet they have the world cup in 24 months time. Will UEFA actually kick Russia out when it undoubtedly kicks off again? Or do we wait for someone to die?

Notable it only says Russia will be given the boot if there''s trouble inside the stadiums, no mention of events outside.

Oh and the 150k euro fine. Absolute joke.
Taking into account the Russian MP publicly backing the fighting and supporting it, give them a 100 mill fine and see how positive they are about it then.

Before it was could lead to disqualification , now its anymore trouble and Russia are out . Still dont think it will make the thugs behave though they are not there for the football .

Actually I read it as a direct threat that if there is anymore crowd trouble then they will be removed from the tournament, and that it was more directed at the Ruskies than us.

They will be kicked out it seems as a major assault by the "Ultras" is planned for the week-end and as a group they seem more concerned with conflict than with the football.

The English fans involved would seem to divide their priorities between football, fighting and boozing. With football important enough to heed the warning.

French didn''t even manage to arrest any of the blatantly tooled up Russians at the ground or in the street

Rounded up 6 English fans though! Great job!

France, it would appear, is an advert for the rest of Europe: f:£&King useless.

I feel for the French a bit as they''ve more than their hands full worrying about the safety of the population and fans generally from the potential of IS attacks without having to worry about morons from Russia or anywhere else.

I''ve a horrible feeling this tournament''s legacy will be off the pitch not on it.

The 6 English fan rounded up weren''t even charged with fighting with other fans, they threw a couple of bottles at police, one of them got a month in jail for scopping a plastic bottle in the direction of a policeman in riot gear!

The French police seem to have the same approach as the French military used to have, hide from the fighting and then try to look big after the fact.

I feel sorry for the French because if what''s happened in Marseille shows their security is crap at all levels.

If we were on a high terror alert and hosting a tournament and someone set off flares at villa park can you imagine the absolute pandemonium that would cause?

French don''t seem arsed! Probably more concerned with going on strike

England were given a warning that any more trouble and they would be expelled from the tournament.Russia have been given a suspended sentence if they cause further trouble Russia will be thrown out of Euro 2016 What''s the difference ?

It''s anti-Russian politics, like the Cold War on steroids with plenty of demonisation and hysteria via the media. The French police stand back and do little or nothing to stop the Russian hardcore hooligans from getting them into the country and causing trouble, with the intention of getting Russia expelled from the tournament. In fact it wouldn''t surprise me if some of the Russian troublemakers were paid provocateurs. Similar tactics to how political protests turn nasty, the genuine protesters get discredited and their cause gets sidelined.

if organised crews want to meet up and batter each other senseless good luck to themthe problem is when they start in a ground and attack old men, women, kids etc, who are just there to watch a game

aside from from the french police''s lack of ability or care (if the euros had been here it wouldnt have got to this point, we are one of the most watched nations with 40 + years experience of dealing with this) its been widely ignored that its not just been russians vs english, youve got french, ukraine, slovak etc etc all getting involved and stirring it up, its no different to spurs going to millwall and west ham turning up to cause grief for the two main teams involved

Good article in the Guardian about how the acting head of UEFA is also FIFA''s man in charge of Russia''s World Cup in 2018-is he going to be party to throwing Russia out of these Championships?

Probably not.

Not quite sure what more Eufa could do save chucking them out straightaway which they wouldn''t do. However, there were running battles between German and Ukraine fans before their game but I have yet to see any news agencies report this here. There were a number of videos posted on liveleak showing this.

A report on Radio 5 suggested they were Russians with German shirts, but I wouldn''t feel too sorry for Ukraines as they have there own firms too. Interesting some of the Russians are now whining saying it was as much the English as it was them and they had to run having been outnumbered and sorrounded by English fans.
