Brady and Redmond

Recommended Posts

Latest rumour is that of Leicester bidding for Brady. With Redmonds impending departure in region of £11m what do you think we will get for Brady. 24 yrs old and best years ahead. I will be seriously disappointed if we don''t get in region of £20m for the two. That added to parachute payments would surely give us a massive head start on the competition regarding incoming transfers. Could all be very interesting.

Would be disappointed if we only got 20m for the pair. If we paid 7m for Brady then surely he''s added more than 2m onto that value.Redmond at 11m feels cheap too, considering the fact that hes young and english.

Sell the best players, retain average Champs players like Whittaker,Martin,Jerome , a club that never spends a great deal anyway, a manager whos signings to date leave a massive question mark over him and before you know it we are back to being an average mid table Champs side.

Whilst you may not agree with him, Haggerdoo, much of what Canary One says is true. Those who think the club will be splashing out this transfer window are likely to be very disappointed. Depending on whether Klose goes or not I would expect signings to be restricted to a CB and a couple of forwards at best. The fact we have re-signed Whittaker and Turner who were clearly held to be not good enough last season suggests that the objective this window will be to conserve cash, not spend it in any significant way.

Well if we do insist on getting back to championship mediocrity then I hope we at least do it with giving our youth players a proper chance as opposed to signing a load of also rans. I''d be quite excited at the prospect of toffolo (or olsson if he stays) and Murphy one side and pinto and Murphy the other. Pretty excited to see what maddison and morris can do as well.

Brady going would be disappointing but says more about him, he jumps ship every time his team gets relegated, maybe he''ll end up at one of the 3 promoted sides and make it a hatrick of being relegated!

As for Redmond, if we get £11m then we shouldn''t ever consider not taking it, not consistent enough and clearly wants off so let him go, although to be fair to him at least he hung around last time!

In terms of cover, we have Jarvis who should be good in the Champs and then we have the Murphy, after that maybe buying Mutch might be enough?!

Jarvis and Brady are no more consistent than Redmond. Jarvis is consistently worse.

If we manage to find a better player than Redmond it''ll be a huge result.

Personally I wouldn''t let either go for less than £15m each. Both are huge young hot prospects and we should not sell them for any reason other than a club coming in with a "crazy money" offer for them

It does make me laugh the amount of our fans who rate average players like Jarvis and Bennett over the much more talented Redmond.

With regards to Brady''s value, we spent £7m on him when he only had a year left on his Hull contract. Another year at Premier League level combined with him still having a couple of years on his deal means his value will have only gone up. We should be looking for at least £12m in my opinion.

£12m for Robbie Brady.

World''s gone mad.

(Not a dig at you, just a reflection that we even think like that)

No idea how much any player is individually worth but...Redmond, signed for 3 mill, year left on contract, recently played for England under 21s in Toulon tournament, apparently an 11 mill target for Southampton.Brady, signed for 7 mill, 2 years left on contract, playing at Euro 2016 for his national team...on that basis id say 15 mill minimum.

The number of clubs that are/will be interested in signing either player should mean the club extracting every extra £1m possible out of both deals.

£20m should be the bare minimum - more so if Brady continues to shine at the Euros.

Well if Redmond has an £8million release clause thats what he will leave for and the latest story on the move to Southampton says £8million , dont think you can get an auction in this situation as any club bidding the £8million will get to talk to Redmond then he will make his decision .

I understood that McNally said we didn''t have them, but if a release clause is there then it is just a fact of life: it will have been a key thing in the player joining/staying so we can''t really complain (though of course, some will).

What people do really need to do is realise there is usually to-ing and fro-ing on transfers - you aren''t ''small time'' for starting low, it''s called testing the water; go in with a high starting figure and you''ll be paying even more. Over the summer there''s plenty of time for offers and counter offers.

We will have some say in the matter as Redmond is still under contract to the Club for another year.

The fact that this "release clause" has only just come to light suggests it might be malevolent rumour mongering though.
