lappinitup 629 Posted June 15, 2016 Long - Gives an insight into how a similar club to ours is run, and explains why there were so many empty seats at Wembley for the play-off final......http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=1864

lake district canary 4,531 Posted June 15, 2016 Wow. A story of immemse power and passion. Just goes to show what getting the wrong owner can do, money or no money. The owner inflicting the ruination of a historic football club by turning on its fans.......be careful what you wish for, those of you that want someone with money to come in to NCFC. CANARYKING 634 Posted June 15, 2016 Stick with it, don''t get bored halfway through, a master plan in how NOT to run a football club, much better the devil you know !
Lessingham Canary 99 Posted June 15, 2016 Fantastic read, well spotted Lapps. Not a club I have ever cared much about personally, but do admit to feeling for their fans after reading that, shame that so many will still continue to berate our owners, maybe it will be a case of " you don''t know what you have until its gone", football is the loser here. Haggerdoo 6 Posted June 15, 2016 Makes you appreciate what we''ve got - Delia and co get plenty of stick on here but it just shows how quickly things can turn sour if you sell out to greedy self centred foreign owners with no respect for a club, its history or supporters - I''d hate to see us go down that route and end up being another Hull, Cardiff or Leeds
OldRobert 38 Posted June 15, 2016
Just shows how good our owners are.
No it doesn''t, it just shows that our owners are completely different from the Allams. Just because the situation at Hull appears to be some sort of ''war'' between the fans and owners, doesn''t mean were we to be taken over by a well monied new owner/consortium, that we would end up the same as Hull. Not every rich owner is like them.

Some people will do anything and behave as well as they have to to get what they want, but once they have it, they can be seen in their real light. There are no guarantees in football, but once gone down the drain like Hull seems to be going, it will take a heck of a lot to ever get that back. Be careful what you wish for. Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted June 15, 2016 ''''I appreciate what you''re saying LDC, but you cannot sit at home all the time because if you stepped outside the front door you might get bowled over by a bus.''''When I look at rich-owner-takeovers and subsequent club performances I see a negative reaction that''s somewhat more frequent than that of being randomly mown down by a bus. BroadstairsR 2,138 Posted June 15, 2016 If we''re floundering by Christmas. If Championship mediocrity becomes apparent. Then I''d be willing to take a risk, bus route or not. (Too many opportunities missed, repeatedly.)Money problems would become an increasing concern. The quicksand effect.
GenerationA47 747 Posted June 15, 2016 Go on, then - what does he actually mean by this?"A thick, ubiquitous atmosphere, synonymous and disharmony had been cultivated under the Allams. Rest assured, no play-off final was going to fix the exponential damage here."I find the East Yorkshire dialect extremely puzzling... they seem to use familiar words in a completely different way

GenerationA47 747 Posted June 16, 2016 That said, a strangely riveting account of how it can all go wrong just when you think your club''s saviour has arrived. The downward spiral of the fan-owner relationship, irrespective of fluctuating footballing fortunes, holds a macabre fascination for an outsider.
Hairy Canary 668 Posted June 16, 2016
Tl;DrCam someone precis what appeared to be an overly verbose extended whinge?
Name change to Hull Tigers did not happen mainly due to opposition of fans. Owner has a sulk, says fans can die when they like etc, price hike of 14% even after relegation, Name change still happens on merchandise, programs etc, imposition of very expensive membership scheme, removal of concessions for young and old fans, season ticket holders moved from regular seats without explanation, complete stop of communications with owner. Result = massive drop off in season ticket numbers (now around 11,000 after promotion) and inability to sell their tickets at play off final. Not getting any better. TCCANARY 263 Posted June 16, 2016 To be fair to the Allams, they treated everyone (the local council, the FA etc.) the same, as soon as they disagreed with them they refused to speak to them, they must be a dream to do business with.
