Terrific goal!

Apparently a free agent?! I know you shouldn''t get carried away and sign players based on one tournament (rommedhal, brolin etc.) but surely worth a go?

If nothing else, have we ever had a player named after a type of boat?

Kevin de Bruyne, £50m+. Eden Hazard, £60m+. Romelu Lukaku, £40m+.

They have just been upstaged by a free agent released by Reading...

Sam Vokes - the first Englishman to score in a quarter final of a Euro Championships since Hal Robson-Kanu and Ashley Williams.

On a free transfer (regardless of the higher wages) we would be mad not to be interested.

Would be a good addition but seemingly bound for prem league with hull or Swansea .

Would like to see Anichebe on a free but looks like he is off to Midlands club - Derby Birmingham or wolves

He''s got a bit about him. He can play through the middle or from wide areas. He has a bit of physical presence but also has the pace to stretch defences.

He may not be a prolific scorer but that doesn''t make him a bad player.

Looks like some posters expectations are slowly getting lower and lower. The suggestion of a signing like this would have been laughed off this message board a few short weeks ago.

Til, my expectations were never particularly high.

My ambitions are. And I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I don''t think it is our expectations lowering, more than Robson-Kanu''s stock has (artificially) risen significantly over the last couple of weeks. Before this tournament I think he would have been a target for a mid-table club like Ipswich. Scores one excellent goal and suddenly Premier League teams are interested.

Not far off what has also happened to our own Robbie Brady. Scored one very dramatic late header and a penalty, which has added 5-8mil onto our asking price.

Don''t get me wrong, I think Brady is a good player and can and will improve further in future, but wind back a month or two and I''ll doubt you''ll find most of us saying £20 million

Bournemouth dropping £15m on Ibe has also suddenly warped the market.

Seasons when new TV deals kick in have weird summer transfer windows. No one knows what anyone is worth anymore and prices fluctuate wildly.

Also, the weak pound has made shopping in the continent much more expensive than normal. Harder to find value than ever this summer.
