Us and Villa have had £6m bids accepted for Jeff Hendrick

Recommended Posts

He''s good but we''re not exactly short of midfielders. Also can''t see anything about us and him - only Burnley and Hull.

Looks tidy enough but really not sure if we need another midfielder, unless someone is on the way out?

Maybe the people with "sources" can elaborate?

Not really that bothered about this, it''s not an area we need that much more cover in (unless we have any leavers) - much prefer a striker or two, or defender, though you never turn down an opportunity to improve the squad.

In any case, surely he''d be more likely to go to one of Burnley or Hull, who seem interested - the former having had bids turned down.

Nothing adds up about this.

Why should Derby want to unload one of their better players? They have after all been one of the league''s bigger spenders in recent years.

Why should we be looking to add to the midfield when, as some have said, we are well stocked and should prioritise in other areas.

Why are we considered in the reckoning when Premier League clubs have reportedly been interested? Even Villa will probably out-clout us for wages in any case.

Wouldn''t mind him, but some of Andreu, Vadis and Mulumbu need unloading in return.

At least the rumours are now flying thick and fast and on a daily basis, that''s a start.

would be a very good signing at this level. proven and on the improve and only 24 - I would expect him to be prem bound though.

We are heavily stocked in cm which is his prime position - although he has been used wide right; He would add a greater dynacism to the squad. It would surely start some departures

Spending that amount (presumably as brady leaves) would be a sign of intent assuming that the club are as acutely aware as this message board about the need for at least one good striker signing.

This smacks of the club or agent trying to get more money. Burnley reported to have a £3m bid rejected then shortly after two clubs rumoured to have had £6m accepted? It''s a put up or shut up to Burnley pure and simple.

Certainly looked good in the Euros. Hopefully would be swayed by Wes and Brady (hopeful still he will stick around for a window). IIRC he''s had injury issues hold a really promising career back but he seems over them now/

It does seem odd that we''ve been linked with a few central midfielders despite being well stocked here. I''ve got my fingers crossed this means we''re confident on moving on some of those who are a bit surplus in this positions (VOO, Mulumbu, Andreu).

Would be a strange sideways step for him and Derby, so doubt it''ll happen. Do we need another midfielder unless we offload Mulumbu?

We should be spending 6M on a decent striker and CB to partner Klose, not on another midfielder.

We do not need any central midfielders. We need a winger and a striker and if one of Brady or Olsson goes then we need a left back. That''s it. 3 quality players in those positions is what we should be focused on not buying another midfielder of no better quality than those we already have for big money.

Source? Yesterday a number of sources reported that the club insisted that he isn''t for sale after Burnley bid £3m for him. I understand that the bid you say we have had accepted is double that and it wouldn''t be the first time for a club to say that and sell. Unless you have some serious inside knowledge though I highly doubt this is going to happen considering the wealth of options we have in that position. Good player though and would be happy to see him in a Norwich shirt.
Don''t think he is any better than what we have, plus the wallet is empty ;-)
It has just had £11 million put in it buy selling Redmond.

Which part of the selling before we can buy from my original thread '' The Wallet Is Empty '' are you so obviously struggling to understand or have you just decided that your take of '' we wont be buying anybody '' is the way to portray it ?

Sidenote, isn''t Jeff Hendrick meant to be the dimmest footballer around?

Decent player though.

Perhaps indeed Frank, it certainly sounds like things have got confused.

Ah well, it''s all good, there''s money in the wallet after all.

The one at Asda''s? Perhaps they were meeting Hendricks there.

If Hendrick was on our radar it is now reported this morning that Burnley have been back with an increased offer but Derby are holding firm.
